I was really looking forward to this. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed.
But as far as I can tell, they will implement them 'some time after' the patch. Can anyone decipher that?

Basically means they might have a few kinks to work out but it'll be released soon. I'd rather them make it good rather than release it crawling with buggies.

Yeah, me too. But as far as I can understand, the delay is about them finding out which servers to merge. I don't know if they want to see how active the low population servers will be after this patch.
I just didn't see any information that this feature wouldn't be included in the patch. That's why I'm a little disappointed.
But I guess we have something to look forward to then.

They talked about this a few weeks ago.

The tech is there, but they did not want to merge servers on the same day as the patch, plus they are still looking at what ones to merge.

I know The Scryers server Horde side is really dead. I just pray they don't tie us in the the Moon Guard server. I will cringe if they do.

As far as I know, they will merge servers from the same battlegroup, and of the same type. So if your server is not in the same battlegroup, or is not the same type (ie. PvP, RP ect.) as Moon Guard they will probably not get merged.

I'm just hoping that Runetotem and Thunderhorn will be merged, seeing that both of them is pretty dead, and I have a lot of characters on both of them. (And they are in the same battlegroup).

Actually, if low pop servers aren't in the same BG, they may merge them outside of their BG cause there's whole BGs that are usually dead too. I've seen em talkin' about it. Just depends on the server. Scryers may be moved to something like WrA or MG.

Oh. I did not know that. So we really can't know what server our low population server will be merged with.
It kind of sucks a little I think. I was so hoping for either Thunderhorn or Bronzebeard to be merged with Runetotem. Now it can be some completely different realm.

By the way, has anyone heard anything about heirlooms, and the ability to send them between characters on different realms that has been merged?

so will we KNOW which servers are connected to our?

because this is BIG time going to feed into my chronic alt-itis. if I know which server is connected to mine, I can create 30 new toons!!!

That's actually one of the reasons I'm asking this too. I already have lots of alts on those other servers. So I'm really hoping they will be the ones my server will be merged with.

But I think we will know when it happens. It's not like for example if Runetotem and Bronzebeard would be merged, that they would be shown as one realm on the realm list.
And if that's the case I have a hard time seeing how they will pull that off. I mean, I have 11 characters on Runetotem and 11 characters on Bronzebeard. What would happen if those two servers were merged and changed into one realm? Would I then have 22 characters on the server?

You will know by the chat alone and they will be releasing a list too.

Oh come now, MG isn't that bad! Just avoid the ERP and it's a great realm actually

I heard they will be joining oceanic servers but i'm not sure why, none of them are technically "dead" from what I gather...and after some yrs on caelefail I hope our trade isn't joined to that mess...shudder!

besides, according to Blizz. Moonguard is a high population server, The Scryers (my server) is a medium density server. Isn't the point of these connected realms to merge low-density servers?

Well we'll see what they do. I'm eager for it. Always nice to see new faces.

Though if they merge WrA and MG, I'm gonna scream. Those two don't need to be merged together.

I saw something interesting yesterday in lfr.... cause i have the MyRP add on I get more info when I hover over other players and I saw under someone from Nagrand had "Conceded Realm" (or similuar - wasnt connected tho) and they also had the (*) next to their name. Does this mean it's already happened and we just haven't noticed? I certainly havent seen people from Nagrand on Aman'Thul yet...not that i mind MORE ALTS!

I've also been seeing people from realms I didn't see before on one of the servers I play on (Shadowsong EU, which is a medium population PVE server). However, the server that needs it most from the ones I frequent, is an RPPVP one that desperately needs to be merged to the single high population RPPVP server on the European side, but nope. Nobody. Not seen a single person from another realm...or in fact, a single person. Orgrimmar is dead, the Isle is virtually deserted. There is almost nothing in the AH. Trade/General are silent. It's just like before, so I could vouch for it not having been merged yet anyway. Maybe they're testing the waters with a couple of realms, and haven't yet added the AH feature, for example?

That isle being deserted sounds like a good thing atm tho Rares that live longer then 30 secs sounds good to me lol

Oh yes, I quite agree! Except that the only people that ARE there are unusually fanatical Alliance, who feel they must do their part for their faction by slaughtering every single Horde that darkens their shadow! Minding your own business, doing quests, and POUNCE, five Alliance have come to dance on your unresisting corpse...And since Horde side is dead, there's no hope of any help from your own faction. So you just quietly leave...

Actually, I've been on the isle where no ones around(friend brought me to Icecrown) and I hated it. While it's nice for non-elite rares, it's not nice for everything else. It's extremely dangerous. Other elites everyone, Yaungol up constantly.
