I' not sure how many of you have noticed, but this patch made it so your feldrakes can no longer be used as a ground mount in land only areas

I wouldnt call that a nerf really. Just a change that needed to be made as it was a dragon and it's not fair to allow those with Fel Drakes to use theirs while I can't use my other drakes.

I didn't even realize Fel Drakes could be ridden without flying o_O But yeah, its more just a graphical change as its not causing any harm to gameplay and we can fly at lvl 60 so we don't need to wait too long to strut around in Azeroth and Outlands on one :3 And then each of the expac regions after that (though Pandaria does need 90 to fly. Probably won't drop down either to force us through more content rather than efficient rarespawn farming)

Did they at least fix the noise it makes when you mount up though? I can't check myself right now, but for ages it sounded like a hippogryph. -.-

Feldrake as a Ground Mount
The Feldrake having ground mount functionality was originally a bug. When the bug got fixed for all drakes, that functionality got removed. A hotfix is being worked on to add ground mount functionality back in for the Feldrake. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

I found this on MMO champion. I'm glad they are fixing it. A lot of people bought it for it's unique ground mount abilities.

That's a bit silly to buy a mount JUST for that. I want it just to have it cause it's neat looking. I hope people protest this cause if the Feldrake gets to have it, I want all drakes to have it. It's not right to have one drake be a special snowflake when all the drakes are the same.

I just don't understand why people who don't have it are so against other people having it as a ground mount. I agree that all drakes should be ground, but I see reversing the nerf as a step in the right direction for them to start coming out with land mount drakes. I also think its pretty silly for them to QQ about feldrake when the heart of the aspects was a land mount first. I think the land mount aspect of it makes it unique. I don't have the ghastly charger but I'm not gonna QQ to bliz about how it isn't fair that they can fly on their undead horse and I can't on mine.

I dont like the fact that HotA and the Bloodwing are ground mounts either since they lack a ground animation. It looks ridiculous. I personally feel they shouldn't let those be ground mounts either but that's just me.

I think it's moreso the fact the Fel Drake owners are being self-entitled about it(a lot of them anyway) just so they can be a special snowflake on their drake.

As for the Fel Drake, they DESERVE to have the only ground mount drake. I don't think people reseal just how much REAL LIFE money they paid for it. At that amount? They deserve it. Seriously. If you are paying over $90 for a mount alone PLUS your sub fee, yeah.
I was heavily debating buying one (when I actually had money) just for the ground mount reason. Nothing else. Just that.

That's implying/assuming they bought it with real money. Most people on my server just buy it off of the AH and I think it's also on the Black Market AH too. I'd never pay $90 just for ground mount status. That's a waste of money.

Most people do buy it with real money. And those that buy it off the BMAH usually buy it for a shit ton of gold (And Im sure most of those people paid a little visit to Susan to get that much gold. honestly. XD!).
To you it may be a waste of money, to others, it may not be. It is all personal opinion. I am not saying you are wrong, but everyone has their own thoughts, ideas and opinions.

I still say if someone is paying so much for something ontop of a sub fee, they deserve something a little special.

I just...why can't ALL drakes be ground mounts? They have legs! They can use them. I don't see why Feldrakes need anything extra to be special anyways. They're one of the most badass mounts ever and if I could have one, I'd get one. They don't NEED anything else, imho. You have one of the shiniest and rarest mounts in game. (But for real, can they ALL be ground mounts?)

I don't think it's "special snowflake" syndrome as much as "dog with a bone" syndrome. The phenomenon that people passionately hate something being taken away from them even if they never used it or needed it. I have every belief that 99% of the people posting never use it as a ground mount but will swear black and blue they do for the purpose of being outraged.

I personally hate using any large mount (including most flying ones) as a ground mount as you end up half over the top of quest givers and vendors and end up having to dismount so you're not being an antisocial prick to everyone else (though there are plenty of antisocial pricks that seem to have no problem doing this!).

From what I have seen from ebay and other places this mount can go up to about $200. That's the price that you could preorder it for also. So I can see why people were quite mad at Blizzard. I was more just annoyed that it was done in a stealth patch. It was also able to be used as a ground mount for more than a year and was intended with this perk.Hence, the usable at level 20.
I can't really say much here about being mad about money since I got mine randomly from a pack. I am quite happy it's gonna be a ground mount again though since I was planning on using it with my warlock.
*Also, I wouldn't mind drakes having this, especially protos since I love thier run.

I never paid £80 for 'ground mount status', I bought it cause I liked it and it being a ground mount too was a nice bonus that I liked a lot, considering I was planning on leveling my warlock with it since it suits her a lot. I think drakes look silly as ground mounts, though. When they're jumping around like crazy and running around like that it looks odd because... they have wings. Use them! But even so, when you pay that much money for a mount, I should be able to use it as much as possible.

I'm perfectly fine with it being unique to the fel-drake, I thought it was intended and honestly a nifty little bonus for an already expensive mount.

Just to let you guys know: The Feldrake is now able to be used as a ground mount again! It got fixed in the patch that happened today.

I still say they need to do that with all drake mounts to be fair. I worked my butt off for those. :/

Hooray! Not that i care "passionatly" for it but its so funny in tot to run around on a drake haha! I don't see why all drakes can't do this but i think because it was a tcg one and they are meant for all lvls to ride even if you dont have flying yet? I could be wrong with this theory but it fits for things like the sparkle pony/undead flying pony you get from store/tcg.
