ok i am a personally hater of gearscore addon
but die to my slacking ingame i decided to log on a guilds vent from my realm now this guild i wandered onto are the top of a realm they have icc 10/25 cleared 10/25 11/12
now i know these guys from irl and the others well we troll about :B

now they were fighting over addons like raiding pvp ones etc
now ive never hheard of this addon 'Elitist Group' but fom what i heard .. i would love it if people asked for that score then GS cas that addon shows you if they have the wrongs gems wrong gear on (say your a melee dps and you have caster gear on)

i was wondering if anyone here used/uses Elitist Group if they could tell me a lil more about it as i think i might actully download a rating addon :o

I have just GS, but note, I use it better than "ok warrior you look like youre wearing a dress but your gs is good so youre in!".I check the "per-spec" thingie, which shows if the stats are correct. I just wish it would scale properly for hunters, IE Agility is given as much priority as ArP, even when your ArP is high enough to regem for it.

ElitistGroup is basically GS that detracts point from the GS based on stats, something that GS can do too, just not automatically.

(FYI, I detest both. It's just, doing dummychecks for everyone in a 25man won't work.)

but if i start playing again i wont be doing guild raids ill be going off messing with mates maybe pugs
ok no one questions my gs cas i have a nice rep on realms people know i will pass for anyone and ive got achivs i got other characters
but sometimes its nice to have things as backup like you even said a dummycheck

It does, if you use it correctly. It will show a GS, and then a "per-spec" percentage of GS for you. For example, a warrior wearing healinggear would show up as maybe 5.4k GS, but if you look at the percentage-thingie it would show something like 13%, so then you take 13% of the GS. Simple math, really.

i heard that doesnt always work though my bf has it and we were messing about in pugs and noticed it wasnt showing all the time or say if he looked at it then another guildie looked at same person it would change :s

then again never liked them much to bother to read into them on curse .. might wander onto curse and test them out later
downloading WoW and drawing ... laptop does not like!

It's not an add-on, but elitist-armory.com is the best character assessment tool out there. It could be too much for a raid leader putting a 25 man pug together to look everyone up, but a player can check their data and report what their average ilevel of gear is. That should be enough for a raid leader, really. I have no idea what my gear score is on either of my characters and I really don't care. If a pug leader is insistent on gear score, that's not a raid I want to be in because such an insistence tells me the RL doesn't know what they're doing.

If you use the current version of Gearscore, it will show allow you to look at a player's stats, current gear, gems, enchants, and a brief raid history by typing /gs while you have that player targeted and they are within inspection range. If you have Gearscore loaded and want to see what it looks like, you can do this by targeting yourself and seeing what comes up.

When we do PUG's on our server, most raid leaders will ask you come to them and /wave for a gear check so they can do just that. It's a great way to weed out retards (like the Hunter with a 5200 GS that tried to join my ICC 10 yesterday and had no enchants on his gear and all blue gems). Of course, we have a few people who try and go just by Gearscore, but most experienced puggers and raiders avoid these people (we know they haven't got a clue).

I don't like gearscore. No one cared about it in Vanilla when they were running through MC or OL.

I'm also a GS hater. Though I use it to find my own GS so as not to bother trying to get into a PuG that's requiring a certain score.

Thank gawd my guild doesn't give a crap about that kind of thing.

yeah my guild doesnt but i dont wanna raid all the time like them
so means i gotta pug
now some guilds have a rep of being idiots and yes they are ... i did a icc 10 pug we all had the same level of gear (5800 ish give or take) and i was BM had a spirit beast ..... 8.9k the guy under me was 6.7k .... we had a mage doing 3k and he was one of the best geared .... then i looked at him he gems were all wrong i felt like crying
like there was a healer who wouldnt listen to the raid leader he was told to stand behind lord marrowgarr and what does he do he stands on the left hand side far away from the group! as a hunter im the only one there who needs to stand range ....
his excuse
'omfg nubs i have 6k gs (which he didnt) and look at my title (the AQ bug lord title) i think i know what im doing!'

ive been involed in these 'give gs pugs' so if this guy can get in ...
ive heard elistist group gives a lil better detail then gs ... D:

Yeah... seeing as how people can BUY characters with titles/achieves/etc, that doesn't actually mean much at all...

Honestly, I don't see GS being as important in Cata as it is now. However, that's because I see PUGing taking a pretty big hit when Cata comes out. A lot of the people that run PUGs now are players that are either in 10 man guilds and PUG 25's, or they are in 25 man guilds and PUG 10's in their off time. With 10 and 25 raids sharing the same loot tables and lockout timers in Cata, most players in raiding guilds aren't going to be available for PUG raids, which is a pretty big chunk of the player base on my server.
