So, it’s that time of the year again where I flail in sheer desperation in the hope that a dam Brewfest Kodo with finally crack out of that daily Keg….

During previous brewfests we did not have the luxury of account bound mounts (though I did manage to squeeze in a few runs last year, MOP was dropped only JUST before brewfest) and with my hunter being my sole mount collector, I was petrified to do Brewfest runs on my alt in the fear it would drop for it and it would taunt my main. So much so, I just didn’t run it on my alt… just in case (though it seems quite foolish now as who knows, maybe my alt would have been lucky and it would have merged into my now account wide collection)

Anyway, this is my 6th year and no luck thus far. Howver this year I also have the bonus of 2 lvl 90 alts this year and have 3 times the chance (Woot Woot!) but as I run the daily each morning, I get that awful feeling that it will elude me yet again and taunt me for yet another year.

Anyone else hoping to get lucky this year? Anyone else gotten lucky? Share your Holiday Woes and Woots here!

Oh god, after all this time I still don't have the kodo. I have both of the ram types from the original festival, but every year the kodo has evaded me.

At least your chances are far, far better than ever this year, and Brewfest still has a while to get yet Stay positive (OK, I know that last bit sounds trite, sorry )

I've never won the kodo, but I was incredibly fortunate to have a generous friend who had won the ram the same week and then won the kodo and decided I should get something too. A very good guy, and I almost didn't accept it, it was so much. But this was back when it was group loot and you could trade. If it was still tradeable I'd run it with you.

If I was still playing WoW I would group up and need for you as I have them all and want all my friends to have them too. But I don't so I can't, I do wish you all luck though.

I so wish it was like that still, but a few years ago blizzard went a redesigned certain holiday event dropped loot, namely the more unique items. They once used to have a small chance to drop and the group would roll when they did. You could also continually keep running them all day if you chose to in the hope that the item you wanted dropped and you would eventually win the roll. However, after the redesign these items are now only accessible via an item/chest/cache/keg that you personally acquire once, and only once per day after your 1st completion. This now means that you can’t help out other by queuing up repeatedly and hoping that what you want will eventually drop. Also no rolling for them, as there is no mounts/pets/special items that drops for you to roll on. One now just has to pray to the RNG gods that the small amount of daily opportunities offered to you, actually pay off with the items that you need/want.

I personally think they should add these kinds of items to a “currency” based purchase (as they once where years ago). Even if the amount required is particularly high that you may not get enough in one year, you could at least hold onto it you could get it the following year. People like to see progress towards a goal, even if that goal may be very long, you can see your effort put in and how far you’ve still got to go towards your achievement. It makes it satisfying and rewarding when you finally get there while providing a sense of achievement as you actually work towards it. Now, as it stands, these type of drops on holiday events leave you nowhere any closer to achieving your desired goal 6 years later than the 1st day it was introduced. It’s very disheartening and frustrating to say the least.

I wish you luck SpiritBinder! I know I was wanting the ram on my main and it NEVER dropped for him - it never dropped for one of my alts on horde side either (My husband got 3 on the same toon). After 3 years I had a ally DK with level 85 during Cata and got the ram on her while hoping for tank trinket. I was so sad I had gotten it on a toon I rarely played, but with shared mounts now my Horde guys can enjoy riding a ram!

I got my ram after 3 years of bad luck. First time was no wow time. Second was car pissing on my laptop and thirst time was my laptop not working altogether. This year I got it on the 3rd day. Kodos? I have 4 kodos sitting in my bank from past years.

I too, have had to wait six years for the mount. I probably didn't do it every day of every brewfest these past years, but still... I've had to wait a long time.

But on sunday I got lucky and finally got a ram on an alt of mine. Just need that kodo now.

I got the ram the very first year of Brewfest when you could buy it with coins. Every year since then I've killed this boss each day and every year I've gotten no kodo. x.x

i only have the epic ram and im lookin forward to getting the kodo if possible

I've played wow since early Vanilla, and *never* won a mount during a holiday-- wait, I lie... I had one of the silly brooms that vanish when the holiday ended, but that doesn't count. My warlock recently hit 90 - I've been trying daily with both my hunter and my 'lock, and last night Cal (the warlock) got the kodo! I'm hoping to get the ram before the holiday ends, but am tickled that I finally got something during a holiday run!

Well, Coren finally took mercy on me. I got the kodo years ago, but the ram has eluded me.....until last night. Ran every night since it started and finally got the ram. Sort of sad too though... I now have no reason to participate in yet another holiday. I think the only holidays I have left to run is Hallow's End & Love is in the Air.

Thats what happens ever year. I have no drive to do any of the hoildays now that I got what was needed. Bleh. They really need to put more stuff or do a new event or something. Brewfest please be fun again! :C
