Just curious on how ppl view the state of fr so i created a poll. Running the poll for 14 days so ppl can change their answer if they want.

I personally belive that the site will remain but that the developpers will change the concept in one way or another.

I think that the site has a lot of potential and that there are things going on behind the scenes that we the players don't see, but that in time, the site will balance out and properly take off. ATM it is still in a fledgling state, with new parents who are still scrambling to sort out this new "parenthood". I have confidence that that the site will flourish, and although old members may leave, and new ones come, the site will thrive.

I've not gotten involved with it, but it certainly has a pretty big following here. I mean some days I log on and the last 10 active threads are all FR

If it makes that many people happy I hope it does kick on tbh

Hmm, hard to say out of those options.

I feel like we're going to have a bit of a bumpy ride right now as the site continues to stabilize and figure out where it wants to go. There's a dedicated userbase, even if it's relatively small, and most of us want to see it thrive. I don't doubt the potential of success if they can just iron out some of the issues, namely the economy right now. We desperately need some alternative treasure making sources, and possibly an overhaul on prices, but it's hard to say what would be a decent change and what would only be a band-aid fix.

Either way, hopefully they keep up correspondence with outside professionals to continue improving the site. I certainly feel frustrated at times, but I'm willing to stay optimistic as long as they don't give up on it. I really enjoy it and I don't think I'm going anywhere even if my own lair is at a bit of a stalemate right now. I just have to keep reminding myself that the site is still a baby.

Personally I think we'll hemorrhage players for a while, until more of the problems are addressed. Between the economy and folks suffering from burnout, I see more dead accounts every day. My suspicion is that we'll eventually stabilize around a core number of players, with others coming and going- as in they log on and play when a new update is released or to try out new features, then go inactive again until the next update.

Sort of what I noticed with WoW and new content, and I suspect it will be somewhat similar here. Interest is currently waning within the community, but a major overhaul that fixes enough things will bring folks back for a time, but I believe there will be quite a few more part-timers than what we have now.

Maybe if the mods could you know act professional for once? I've not seen them act professional at all.

They need to make like "end game" content. It's the same stuff from day one and that's really boring to a lot of people (I can say that is me 100%) I don't see any potential in the site the way it is.

Edit: don't give me the bullshit that it's a "new" site that is no excuse for the shit they have done! Really it's not.

I mean banning people for asking for a refund? That is not cool at all. If you ask for real money you should be fine when people ask for a refund imo.

i know for a fact that as long as the site is open i will stay on it. I love it plain and simple. I like the concept and i really like the dragons.

I just want them to admit that what they have is a breeding game and that the core concept of the site is that you breed and sell dragons. From what I keep reading, they say it's not and that your main ways of making treasure should be through the fairegrounds (since it feels like they keep nerfing coli grinding as a way to make money). If they wanted us to be doing that then they need to stop offering less tedious games with a MUCH, much higher treasure cap. 75k really isn't that much treasure, but it works if you consider that this *should* be a breeding game and that the fairegrounds are supplemental treasure for when your dragons aren't selling.

I'll likely keep playing the game anyway, but my hopes are significantly lowered every day they go without acknowledging that there is a serious problem with the economy right now and that they need to fix it or watch their game die.

I was talking to Nef about this the other night, and my thoughts are that there will be a period of absolute complete economical crash (which has officially started, wow), which drives people off. Once mods realize they're losing people, they'll either shut down the game, which I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt, or really put their nose to the grindstone, hire more people, and figure something out. I don't think they'll let it die just because of how much work they've already put into it; that's a lot of art to go to waste.

I highly doubt they'd but their nose to the grindstone in the way you are saying they would. Last time they said that they did jack all really so I can't see them changing the way they do things now. The mods know jack shit about jack all.

I think they'll lose people soon. The current economy can't really support the cost of expansions. I don't plan to quit any time soon though I think the future of the game depends far more on how skilled lightsky is. Unless they've been doing a crapload behind the scenes they plan to reveal soon they need to be replaced. Older dragons should be retired like disney does with thier movies for a time to icnrease thier value and new ones introduced. They don't seem to have the funds or staff to be able to do this at the moment. I'm hopeful that they have hired some more people so there's a chance things will go well for the game if lightsky can get thier act together. So far I'm dissapointed with the lack of response or acknowledgement of problems, but the fact that the game is good might just carry it until things get better.
