Since I can't play on my main till either Monday or Tuesday due to running out of game time I thought maybe make some interesting topics here gives me something constructive to do. So my fellow message board members what if any are your favorite drake mounts and may I ask why be it hard to find or maybe took seems like forever running that one raid or dungeon to get.

My number one favorite used to be the Time Lost Proto Drake due to it was a pain to find and kill due to there was no CRZ back then and the Storm Peaks were always packed with campers not only for the mount but Skoll and others. But now that I managed to finally be able to solo The Obsidian Sanctum 10 man my new number one favorite has got to be the awesome Black Drake.

Coming in at close second is the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher because it took so long for my old guild to finally realize it was a good idea to run it and when we did most of us that were there got the mount.

Third is the Time Lost Proto Drake back in the day before CRZ and Cata I was able to find and kill this awesome mount when I was on my old realm and it was also this mount which made me want to keep my now 90 Death Knight and move him to another account.

Fourth is the Onyxian Drake been trying for many a month since I found out I can solo it on 10 man in blood spec yet to obtain this beauty but I know one day it shall be mine.

Fifth and last is the Albino Drake pretty easy to obtain when you get the certain number of mounts and hardly used by players I noticed when in game I like it due to the way it looks cool with the white and light blue/green scales.

Fav is any of the protodrakes, love the model. Not a fan at all of any of the other drakes.

For sheer colour, I love the Twilight more than any other. So beautiful.

But I'll always have a big soft spot for the Albino. I got it in that 3.0 period between BC and LK and loved it so much.

I was also curious where your images came from, since that protodrake image was what Warcraft Mounts used to use before I updated them.

I see now there's a Russian site that is stealing our model shots rather than making their own.

The first two are of my main on the two mounts the rest are from a site I found online with just the mounts no players.

Oh yeah, sorry, I meant those white background ones I recognized the TLPD as one of ours before it was replaced. That site seems to have copied a lot of them from Warcraft Mounts rather than made their own.

Twilight Drake *_____* When I ran OS for the first time ever, it was an OS3D run and I paid the winner of the drake 11k for it since it was still one hell of a bloody pain to just get a raid together for it, let alone actually do it as I found during the few runs I managed to do after that one cause people were mostly uninterested in it, having already gotten theirs when it was current content (I think it was early Cata when I got mine... I'm not really sure anymore). I really, really, really love this drake.

Ironbound Drake. I'm 3 acheivs away from getting it but think I could ever find people for it? Pffft yeah right. Been trying to get the achievs for it for years now. All anyone ever wants to do Ulduar for now is for mogs, they don't give a crap about people trying to get the mount so no one bothers to try for the achievs. They just want to burn the boss down to loot them D:

Blue Protodrake. Heeeelll yeeeeah! This lovely and the polar bear from Bruunhildar are my go to mounts for my 'Ice Troll' hunter. It took a while, but not to a grand extent. I got it probably within a month...? I got it back in Cata so it's been a while and I don't remember how long I farmed it.

TLPD. I'm just, I love him, but I don't think I can put up with camping him anymore. I camped him on and off, 16-18 hour days for a month or so here and there only to always, always, ALWAYS see Vyragosa. Always Vyragosa. There was actually a time when I literally developed a 6th sense and I fluttered around to various spawns with this gut feeling that something was going to spawn there soon and I actually managed to see Vyra spawn ontop of me and kill her just as swiftly several times in a row. Since TLPD's release I've only seen him once. Once. It was back in January last year, he spawned at Waterfall and his massive range had my addon ping for him but I couldn't see him anywhere! I was at the lake and I flew forward, thinking he was coming in from the plains but didn't see him anywhere so I flew back, managed to finally get the addon to target him, and I saw that healthbar barely full, dropping rapidly with every second, and I only just made it within visual sight of him to see him fall to the ground dead. So, yeah. I love him but I'm still so bloody destroyed over that I just, I cannot camp him anymore. I tried many times, a lot of times, and I've just lost all heart for it.

Azure Drake. I can't solo Malygos for the life of me, I can't get past phase two with any slight success so this lovely beauty still remains out of my reach ;---;

Nether Draaaaaaaaaaakes! I did the rep grind 8 times for these beauties! My favorite ones are Onyx and Azure <3

Red Drake. I ground Wyrmrest Accord rep like a bawss for so long in dungeons in Wrath ermagerd.... I was exhausted but happy when I finally got it. And then I ended up deleting the character I had farmed it on by mistake and only realized it in MoP >____> So I did the easy thing and bought the rep thingy's till I reached exalted and bought it that way

Drake of the North Wind, Volcanic Stone Drake, Vitreous Stone Drakesssssssss! I have the Volcanic, farmed Stonecore so many damned times for Vitreous (saw it drop once when I was dungeoning but lost it) but have yet to get it to drop, and I've only done Vortex a handful of times soloing (but more than plenty of times dungeoning) for the North Wind guy but these are my favorites of the 'elemental' Cata drakes, mostly for their looks but they're magical with my Shamans (I have a special love for Deepholm so I kinda have at least some of their backstory tied to that place though I did really like Uldum and the North Drake would be great for my Pandaren guy) xD

But the absolute, hands down, COMPLETELY ULTIMATE FAVORITE OF ALLLLLL.................

Vicious Gladiator's Twilight Drake.

The drake I will never in my life, ever be able to get because it was 1) Arena and I don't PvP let alone Arena (I did try once though, really. We didn't last a minute, literally. I just cannot PvP for the life of me. I used to be great in Vanilla, I was a beast feral druid, but I did the 20-29 bracket. 30-39 was pretty touchy though. And I really just could not, whatsoever, could not function in brackets where we could mount like, AT ALLLLL, and because we can mount at lvl 20, guess who doesn't PvP anymore with any actual seriousness? Meeeeee! Specially with damned heirlooms being allowed in there. Even if I'm wearing them too, I suck so damned hard ugh ffffff.), and 2) It's retired and its definitely one of those mounts where when it's retired, there's not a prayer in the world that will bring it back. The backlash from bringing back old Arena champion mounts would be monumental.

Of the actual drake model mounts, my favorite coloration is the Twilight Drake. I really love the deep violet-tinged blue. Runners-up would be the Azure Drake (for the armor) and Feldrake (someday, maybe!)

Of the protos the only one I really like is the Blue Proto-Drake. I guess I'm partial to blues.

I'm also partial the Netherwing Drakes and the "Wind" Drakes - they both have a slight rainbow thing going on with their coloration that appeals to me.

Ok that doesn't count because it was a model edit but I loved that skin, haha.

I used a lot of drake mounts thanks to having a random mount macro/addon, but my favorites where Vitreous Stone Drake, Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher, Cobalt Netherwing Drake, Ironbound Proto-Drake and Twilight Drake.

I was so jealous of my friends that got the Plagued Proto-Drake before it was removed from the game.

Green Proto-Drake
Bronze Drake
Drake of the West Wind

I just like those colors

1. Blood-bathed Frostbrood Vanquisher: I could go on and on about how much I love this mount and how I always wanted it, but it's easily my favourite drake mount. I still find myself panning the camera to admire it. Beautiful undead dragon model. I never thought I'd get all the achievements for it, so it's something of a treasured prize to me.

2. Drake of the North Wind: It took me quite a few runs for this, but I was adamant. I prefer it's head to the standard drake head, and I love the colours.

3. Blue proto-drake: At first I disliked proto-drakes, but they grew on me, especially after I got this. I love the colouring, and I can honestly say I never hated doing my mount runs for it, because I love WotLK content.

I really love drakes so have alot of them but my favourites are:

1. Experiment 12B - I'm an old skool "20man uldrs" player and always loved the chromatic drakes and the story behind them. My very own Gylph would be a dream but alas it will have to wait until I can solo DS to farm it!

2. Blazing Drake - I love the alexstraza esq drakes but i missed out 3 times during current raid content and a bmah buy Maybe one day! But i love to see them about!

3. Drake of the South Wind - this one I do own and love. The blue is so vivid and the lightning the wind drakes emite is gorgeous!

4. Azure Drake - I also own this one and its defiantly a fav. I love the armour and the runes on it!

5. Onyixan Drake - Another I own and love! She's Ony the ultimate raid boss dragon of vanilla and I love her cause shes so different to the other drakes!

Honourable Mentions - Ironbound Proto Drake, Icebound Frostbrood, Twilight Drake, Mottled Drake.

Do cloud serpents count? If so my Thundering Onyx is up there too!
