This vid is a beautiful reunion between man and wild animal. Anybody who thinks animals are stupid should see this.

Animals are definitely not stupid.

Sweet video. There's one with a lion that brought tears to my eyes.

I love hearing stories like this. :)

Dewclaw, I think this may be the lion one you're referring to:

Ahh, Christian the lion. Not ashamed to say it brought a tear or two to my eyes when I watched it the first time as well. And playing "I Will Always Love You" in the backround didn't help matters either.

That was very sweet, but that's not the one I'm thinking of. This was a lion that had been released back into the wild and the person who raised him went to visit him despite being told that the lion would not recognize them. Not only did the lion recognize them, he went running up to the person and just about bowled him over with happiness. For some reason that vid was a real tear jerker.

<Edit> maybe that was the one, but the video I saw was a bit different. Either way, anyone who says animals have no feelings is full of it.

Awesome video. Both of them. There was a special on Animal Planet not to long ago with the story of Christian the lion. It was very heartwarming in so many ways.

The show on Animal Planet was called
A Lion Called Christian

They went back after that first heartwarming meeting and saw him as a fully maned adult male lion who still loved on them I believe the last time they saw Christian was as a 4 years old male in 1972.

Oh sad now

Lions can be pretty amazing, but my personal favorite was always watching Kevin Richardson with the hyenas he raised. It's so cool to see people interacting with these animals.

Plus hyenas are adorable :D

I had never heard of him before, but after going to look up some Youtube videos I have to say he's pretty amazing!

Aaand I want a hyena again in WoW.

Yeah I actually discovered him when researching hyenas for something totally different and I wanted videos. There's a whole thing that has since been taken down too, but he had 1-2 packs of hyenas (and several lion prides) that he had integrated himself into as the dominant being there. All the animals love him!

It's especially cool since I've seen a few things with lions before, but hyenas are usually considered too aggressive to deal with. And he himself said that if you work with hyenas, you WILL get bitten, at least once, always, and it will always be a trip to the hospital because they have strooong jaws...but that it's still worth it.

Awesome :D

A friend sent me this adorable video of a toddler and a tortoise who are best friends. x) Thought I'd share with the rest of you, plus it seemed fitting in this thread. :)
