i had this idea while looking at my stables and checking the WoD site for a update for about the 11 time to day.
the idea is that we are going on a suicide mission to a world not only cut off from our own by space but time as well, and by the sound of it we are going to blow up or disable the only way back or at least the only way back for a while. now this is a lore heavy type question. What five pets are going to take to Draenor? Yes i know we will have full access to our stables but my thought was, would we really have access lore-wise if we were cut off from our world? well my ans would be

1. Ogoun - Devilsaur - My favorite pet.
2. Skoll - Spirit Beast - 1st Spirit Beast I ever tamed and the coolest looking one.
3. Tiny - Core Hound - Just in case I need Ancient Hysteria.
4. Portent - Quilen - Eternal Guardian for those tanks and healers that think dieing is fun.
5. Geo - Shale Spider - My go to pet when i just can't seem to look at mobs without dieing while i'm lvling

Hmm, I usually have a Beetle, Quilen, Spirit Beast, and Water Strider with me, so:
Blossom
Pappus
Patchouli
Lotus

The fifth slot is the one I rotate other pets through...this is a hard decision!
Pollen, or Chanterelle, or Saffron

...but if we can tame new boars or dragonflies, I'll be wanting one of those right away!

Nope- Red Azeroth Raptor; first pet I ever tamed in Vanilla, stuck with me through it all.
Gahzara(play off of Gahz' prefix and my name for hydra lol)- Ghost Hydra; simply because one of my faves, he's rare, and more fun than a wolf.
Nintendo- Shy'Rotam; Because cat and my 'treasure tame' after I neared 60 way back when.
Avacera- White Direhorn; I love the direhorns and it will be a great spell-tanker when exploring new content.
???- I always save one slot for a new tame in a new land.

That's just for if I stay Marksman. My BM set is below.
Carnotaur- Charcoal/Orange striped devilsaur; takes Nope's place in BM spec, means almost as much to me as Nope.
Twith- Spirit Beast Wolf; Named after the tauren paladin from Hyjal who helped me look for Karoma for over 4 hours in TwiHighlands- reminds me of the spirit of friendship.
Bane- White Chimera; The closest I'll get to a dragon... ));
Prototype- Chromaggus; My friend helped me carve through BWL and tame the original Chromaggus. + Core Hound Win!
???- I always save one slot for a new tame in a new land.

To be honest, I'll probably be stepping into Draenor with only 2 pets, so that I can befriend some beasts there.
Nanaki my red hyena, and partner will be coming with me
and Barret, my lava turtle, my tried and true tank buddy.

However, if I had to bring 5, then my other 3 would be:

Vlakorados, my Chrome boss Corehound
APS my stone quilen
Ultima my glowing blue spirit leopard.

I will be bringing 3 rares and 2 that are not hard to re-tame in case i see any rares running about in WoD

Depends on the mobs we face.

These days my go-to pets are 2 SBs, one ferocity and the other tenacity. If we need other CC and stuff when leveling, then I'll bring in others as needed.

If I actually play (I'm hoping I do), I will only be bringing 1 pet with me and that pet will most likely be Spudgy (or one of Spudgys) or Biohazard, the rest of the slots are for new friends

I currently am running with these:

1. FaerDelu------ better known as Loque'nahak, still my favorite Spirit Beast
2. Embershell-----Terrorpene and my usual tanking pet when I use one
3. Ruishi----------formerly known as the cobalt version of Portent and rotated back and forth with my red organic Quilen, KungPao
4. Moonfire--------my Moonstalker cat and my faithful companion since level 14 back in Vanilla
5. Sherman--------my blue Direhorn who is currently specced Ferocity because I discovered Turtles make better tanks.

I probably will enter Draenor with those but of course will be taming anything new and interesting.

The rest of my pets don't really matter to me. Most of them are fragile so I'll just stable them.
The one I an 100% taking with me though is my Grimtotem Spirit Guide, Specter.

I will be taking only my faithful Loque'nahak with me she will always be by my side the others will be safe in the stable.

My five:

Tamed him back in WotLK and I just love him. He's my number one pet.
Just tamed this beauty but I already love him. My default tank pet.
He replaced Shango in MoP and I will definetly take him to Draenor.
He's like the Skoll of Cata for me. One of my fave pets ever.
A wolf is always a wolf! He's my "Skoll replacement" when using SV. Also one of my oldest tames, lots of memoris!

Man, that depends if I level my hunter come WoD. I am having a lot of fun with my pally...

All I know for sure is Cas, my Nighthowl, will come with me. He leveled with me since 40 and I'm not about to change that. I know I'll leave one spot open for new tames, and I'll probably cycle through the rest of my stables.

Not leaving space in my active pets if all I'm going to see is old skins /models stuck in a new zone. Which we all know Blizzard is more than famous for.

If we're talking lore restrictions, then sentimentality would probably play a part.
CptnD, one of my oldest pets. Originally tamed as a horde's quest add in Barrens in vanilla. Being a dwarf, I waited for a horde to do the quest, then I named a sequence of pets things like: "nokillcrab" "letmetamplz". The original Captain D glitched out at some point, and I eventually retamed with a better looking skin. Captain D is my standard tanking starter for any expansion.
Harryhausen, I spent so many weeks farming Ungoro, spamming chat and herbing. I made so many darkmoon decks.
Webs, for pvp. Although if Nerubian Spiderlings became tameable in the 6.0 prepatch, I'd retame him as .
Raiyuki, I end up using a spirit beast a lot. I don't like the way most of them do transparency, and I never tamed Loq. I'd replace him if there was a new opaque SB on draenor.
Caravela, I end up using a lot in groups for the spell haste buff. Would be useful until I got to Zangar Sea and looked for a newer model. Or just any new Draenor pet. I might start with Captain D, but I like to have a pet that fits the theme of the area when I'm soloing.

well......i think it would be my hunters 1 ideal pet but the other 4 slots would be for new friends.new world new time new friends.new wolves to play with.

It's difficult to say, because I generally use a random system of my own to rotate pets so all of them get some time to play. But there are times I get sentimental and want to run with each hunter's favourites or oldest ones. If that should happen when Draenor opens, then it would look something like this.

Mozag - Mort, Septic, Possessed, Spear and Hathor.


Eadgyth - Torch, Coal, Enigma, Shadow and Spark.


Lazuli - Amber (colour changer), Coin, Gem, Goldie and Pearl.


Lindorindel - Gabilgathol, Naamah, Palantiri, Radagast and Yavanna.


Garshanga - Artaxias, Antiochus, Balthazar, Mithridates and Scipio.


Rasariel - Liane, Claudine, Charles, Thais and Henri.


My remaining hunter isn't 90, or even close yet, so I won't list her.

For new expansions I always start out with Skorn, my devilsaur, since he goes with me everywhere, but I tend to tame things from each zone as I quest (as long as there's something that catches my interest). I like using them since it's neat to have a native beast for the area. If not then I also might just pick one of my existing pets that seems suited to the theme of the zone.
