Do you have any really bizarre fears?

I wanted to talk about this because I have a fear that most people find very bizarre and whenever I try searching for people who have this fear as well, nothing ever comes up. It looks like I'm the only one, so maybe this won't make sense to a lot of people.
I'm petrified of the Gremlins. Yes, the film. Well, not the film itself... the creatures. Yes, those funny green creatures that everyone loved as a kid. Not me. I'm TERRIFIED of them. Always have been and probably always will be. I first saw the film when I was little and it always scared me a little. But... you know when you find a really disturbing video that you know will be freaking you out later but you keep watching anyway? I did that. I watched it over and over and became progressively more scared of the creatures. My auntie one day remembered I used to watch it a lot, and for fun bought me the DVD when I was about 15. For shits and giggles, I watched it again, remembering being terrified of it as a child and thinking it was just some childish little fear. At the age of 15, I was more scared watching it then than I ever was before. I couldn't keep the DVD, I had to throw it away. I was having nightmares about it for weeks and it got to the point where I literally couldn't bare to own this film any longer. I've never seen it again since and never plan to. I'm now 21, and even glancing at an image of a Gremlin sends that nasty, chilling shiver down my spine.
Something happened recently and it's been the closest I've ever been to a panic attack. I know someone who goes to my uni lectures who likes the films. He brought in a Gremlin figurine one day to the lecture... yeah. You can probably imagine it didn't go down well with me. It wasn't his fault, he didn't know about my irrational fear, but I had to leave the lecture hall and I sat outside and cried. I told people I was just having a really bad day.
I kinda wanted to talk about this because I heard something about there being a remake of this and it sparked my fear back up again. I know it's a really silly fear, but they really scare me. The way they look, everything. Oh yeah, this wasn't so bad, but I remember one time I was little we found a Warner Bros. store and my mum wanted to go in... I didn't see the giant Gremlin statue by the front door until it was too late. I hope I never scream and run out of a shop that dramatically ever again. I know I was only young but I remember it like it was yesterday. I wanted to go into the shop and my mother had to cover my eyes and lead me in so I could safely get past it.
This probably sounds really weird to everyone. But I was kinda wondering if anyone else had any really strange fears maybe like this?
I have some other fears too, more 'normal' ones though. Spiders, planes, heights, etc. But this is by far my worst and most unexplainable one.

Ever since I watched "Gremlins" I have been afraid to let any part of my dangle off the bed at night for fear that the gremlins will grab on and pull me under the bed and eat me...or something. Even though I no longer have a bed with open space under it, I still panic if my arm or leg suddenly dangles off the side, and I quickly pull it back securely onto the bed. I am going to be 28 in a few weeks, and even though I -know- that gemlin's are NOT going to yank me off the bed while I sleep...I can't help but feel that panic.
Also, I never use to be afraid of spiders until I watched "Arachnophobia". Even very tiny spiders make me want to leap back several yards and run away. Which is sad since they are some VERY beautiful creatures.

Funnily enough that film didn't do much for me. I don't know what it is, but fake/CGI spiders don't scare me at all, but real ones, even the smallest, always will. Everyone assumed I was gunna flip out at the spider scene in the Desolation of Smaug but I didn't even twitch. So while I'll raise my eyebrow at fake spiders, being alone in a room with a spider when there's no one else around to take care of it for me will leave me shivering and crying in the corner of the room.

I don't like letting my feet hang over the edge of the bed either, but that's in response to an SCP article I read X_x Invisible creature that paralyzes me in my sleep and then tears off bits of my flesh is a frightening thought.
For my own weird fear, I'm not a fan of being surrounded by a whole lot of space and having the ability to move around anywhere in said space. It's not a fear that applies in real life though, but that might be thanks to the fact that I can't actually fly around - my feet are stuck to the ground and I can only move on that axis! No, the fear applies to video games, where I absolutely hate underwater or outer space levels that let my move everywhere. I'm not even sure why it makes me squirm so much, but the openness of places like Vashj'ir, for example, freak me out. I can handle free movement in small doses - flying over mainland or swimming around off the shore are both fine with me- but I can't handle it when the openness is all there is.
And I'm the same with spiders, real ones scare me but fake ones are pretty cool. The only time a spider in anything that wasn't real life freaked me out was Terrokarantula, and only because my game decided not to load him until I was sitting directly under him and I saw just how big he was.

Oddly enough.. Since it's like -4 outside.. Extreme cold terrifies me. I know it wont happen but I always feel that if I breathe in cold air it'll freeze my lungs solid and I wont be able to breathe.
I also don't like having my arms or legs outside of the blankets for fear of something going to get me.. even though I'm not scared of the dark.
I'm scared of sleep paralysis. I'm legitimately terrified it'll happen to me. Someone on tumblr posted an animated photo set of a little black creature climbing into the sleeping persons window and eventually ending with it sitting on their chest. That did NOT go over well with me.
I'm scared of mirrors and reflections specifically at night.
I'm really spooked by like 90% of porcelain dolls I see especially if they're babies or child like.
I also am terrified of screamer videos. They always scare me. I don't like loud and sudden noises or screams like that. My friends used to like to prank me with them until the one time I lost it and started crying so they didn't do it anymore.

I cannot sleep with the door open, freaks me out, I also get extremely anxious if I have to sit with my back to a door.

I've never been tricked by many but last year my friend sent me a link to a full screen, flashing screamer gif and I *froze*. Like my blood turned cold and I just sat there staring at it and I couldn't leave the page for a good ten seconds or so. I never scream or jump or cry... just freeze. o.O

Oooh, this was an issue for me just the other week. All my housemates left for the Christmas holiday before me and my boyfriend did so we had the house to ourselves and he didn't shut the door before we went to bed and I was just like 'can you not' and he didn't understand why I wanted it shut because no one else was in. I didn't really get it either, but the idea of having the door open while I sleep just doesn't sit well with me.

Eyes.
Eyes in the dark...
Glowing eyes in the dark...
I watched this awful movie (ok, I admit I LOVE awful monster movies),
Abominable.
The film was pretty bad.. but there's one scene, toward the end, where the camera is looking through the forest, at night, all you see is leaves in the bushes, very full screen. Then suddenly a pair of eyes open! but you don't see the face at all.
Didn't sleep for a week.
A Japanese horror movie called "
The Locker (Shibuya kaidan)" also. The kids open this "haunted locker" and the camera slowly moves in to the pitch blackness.. and suddenly yellow eyes open in the back. Again, no face, just the eyes. Thank god we don't have any close neighbours because I screamed loud enough to wake the dead (I am THE proverbial big pussy).
Just generally things appearing out of the darkness also... like in the horror movie "
They". Film got trashed by the critics, but it scared the CRAP out of me.

I'm not sure if I have any that I would call bizarre, but Sukurachi yours reminded me of my fear of bathrooms in horror games. There's always something in the fucking bathtub or behind the shower curtain I swear to god, and it gets me every time.
I think I usually open the shower curtain in real life because of this too, or peek behind them, haha.
In general my fears are mostly needles, heights, and deep water (and things in it).

Fucking caterpillars, I'm fine with Butterflys and Moths but caterpillars can burn in hell >.>
All because when I was little I found one in a bit of broccoli that I was about to eat.

Oh my god you would hate this creepy random room in one of our uni buildings. There's this random building in the middle of the campus that is barely used (in fact, I think it's been closed completely now) but I was in there for a few classes once and the girl's bathroom... o__________o It's a scene taken right out of a horror film, I swear. The whole room was dark and the light was dim when turned on with this huge heavy door leading into it... the whole room is tiled and there was only *one* toilet at the very back of the room, on the other side was this huuuuuge closed shower curtain that looked stained and dirty and dfndsfbdsnkj... needless to say, I chose NOT to pee in that bathroom, and decided holding it in for two more hours was much, much more worth it. .____.

ahahah YEP that's the sort of thing where I would have to go over and open that curtain up completely, I cannot be in a bathroom (especially a creepy dark one) and not be able to see what's behind the shower curtain :|

That's because they're all $!*&^%# creepy! Especially if it's anything other than midday and a really sunny day. Even cartoon versions creep me out. There's just something so utterly
wrong about them...
And I can totally understand Gremlins freaking someone out - the first movie was definitely scary as far as I'm concerned. The sheer evil of the randomness of the gremlins made it all the worse. In my case it's just a "won't watch again" though, and I also reckon Gremlins 2 took the bite out of the creatures a fair bit - which is probably to be expected as it's more of a horror comedy than a horror movie. Once you've seen a lovesick gremlin in lipstick they just don't seem quite so menacing any more... =)

What in interesting thread!
The weirdest phobia I heard of was a girl my fiance used to work with who was afraid of clear buttons. Yes buttons. He had a button man on his monitor to freak her out cause the entire company thought it was funny as. They once tape a clear button to the toilet door handle so when she went inside she was too scared to get out!! I thought that was quite mean at the time lol.
My fears? Well pretty much everything will kill you in Australia so spiders etc don't frighten me as such...I can't sleep with the bedroom door open either like others. I feel...unsafe. I even have a lock on my bedroom atm cause when my fiance is away to me its an extra barrier.
I also cant sleep with the window closed. We have secruity screens so I can have it open all the time and feel safe...but I feel like i can't breath with it shut. Even if its really cold It needs to be open a crack then I'm ok.

As much as I love Pokemon, there are a few I am absolutely petrified of. Beedrill for one, because it's a three foot tall hornet with three stingers. Yep. And I am absolutely terrified of hornets. That's a more 'normal' fear, though. Other Pokemon I'm terrified are the ones that look like fetuses. Namely Mew, the Solosis line and Munna/Musharna.
I always HATED fighting Caitlin in Black/Black2 because she had a Musharna and a Reuniclus. The way Musharna is curled up asleep and the pink dream smoke coming out of its head looks like an umbilical cord makes it look like a fetus. Reuniclus also has a creeeeeeepy battle animation to boot in these games, just... that.... twitching.... The ONLY thing that kept me from freaking out every time I saw them was the fact that I ALWAYS make doubly sure to have 'mon that know Bug/Dark/or Ghost-type moves in order to deal with them as quickly as friggin possible! And yes, I hated fighting Bianca in Black, too.
I am also terrified of Claydol. No joke. Where the hell is it's face?! I will never forget the first time I went into that volcano back in Gen IV with Buck as my battle partner. The very first random encounter, he called out a Claydol. I screamed and nearly threw my DS. I don't know how the hell I even made myself finish that sidequest. x_x;
Another one that scares the hell out of me is Shedinja, and with this one, the anime made it FAR worse for me. Shooting beam attacks out of that halo?! And that creepy voice! Funnily enough, I'm not bothered by the fact that if you look into the hole in its back, it'll supposedly swallow your soul. Because I have NEVER trained one, EVER. Cicada skin zombie... and I hate zombies because of something utterly terrifying I saw when I was only three years old.

Things that twitch/shake really really quickly. ;_; Specifically living things, especially when I don't expect it. There was a three or four second clip in the Supernatural episode "Asylum" where the camera zoomed out to show a rapidly shaking monster head, and oh god, every panic button I have was smashed at the same time. I had to turn off the show and sleep with the lights on for days. No idea why it got me so badly, but AAAH.

I don't have any strange fears anymore, but then again, I don't watch horror movies anymore. When I was a kid, I had personal hygiene issues for a while after I saw Psycho and couldn't get in the shower! And I couldn't sleep at all after seeing The Shining.
I also had unspecified dread of what would happen to any body part left uncovered while in bed. Thank goodness for the magical protection of blankets!

I can't watch things with demons etc. Or well, anything that has to do with paranormal activity - ghosts, demons the like. Or aliens. I won't be able to sleep FOR DAYS, even with the lights on. Even shows like Ancient Aliens terrify me. I just can't handle it.

Ahh Munna really weirds me out as well, which reminded me of another thing - I have a horrendous fear of pregnancy. I never want children regardless, but oh my god the thought of having something growing inside my body hits every freak-out switch in me, I literally can't even think about it or babies or anything or I feel ill.
