Yet more mounts running out of time...

Blizzard has announced that they're removing MoP challenge modes when the pre-WoD patch lands. This means that the four ancestral phoenixes, which require Challenge Conqueror: Silver, will no longer be obtainable.

There's no date given for this, but it's described as an *early* warning, so hopefully you still have time.

You can actually only earn one phoenix per character, so to collect all four colours you'd need to achieve this over four different 90s. But even then they aren't shared across your account, so only available to the toons that earned them.

At least you just need silver, not gold. I'm not yet sure just how hard that is!

I've tried it a few times...and it is no joke. You think the cata heroics were bad? Oh ho! The challenge modes make the cata heroics look like a walk in the park. You're timed from the moment you start and there's no room for error.

I don't usually mind mounts that are difficult to get or available for only a limited time, as they tend to be rather flashy and thus not of much interest to me. However, I really would have liked to have an Ashen Phoenix.

This. Oh well Might also want to remind ppl the Wolf will be gone in 6.0 too from the N Garrosh kill acheivement.

Would be nice if they would give those of us who are in a small guild or can't get a group for those things a chance to get it another way or a way to get a mount of equal value *looks at Moonfang*

I hadn't tried CMs yet because I've been too scared of screwing up, lol. But honestly, if you go on Openraid.us or use the addon OQueue, you can sometimes find more laid back groups that aren't aiming for gold, only silver. Especially with the mount being retired soon, more groups are popping up for that alone. Silver isn't easy either but it's very casual compared to gold.

I did CMs for the first time ever on my BM hunter today and got Siege, Gate and Scholo silver modes down. Shouldn't be too difficult to get the others before they are no longer obtainable...

That sounds very promising! I've yet to get my finger out and do these myself, and was a little dubious about it to be honest. But now it doesn’t seem quite so daunting, Ty

Well, so now I have a reason to go out and try CMs
I will also try to get all 4, just in case they might later get acc-bound.

How is it with pvp mounts for previous seasons? Are they boa or character specyfic?

Just put my thoughts in on the forum thread there:

I don't get why they just don't implement a LEVEL restriction on certain achievements...so for these ones, make it so they can only be completed by a character at lv 90.
After all, if they can restrict achievements to how many raid members there are, how hard would it be to implement a level restriction?
This would keep challenge modes available to players, while still keeping the "intent" of "challenge mode."

This would also allow new players/Alts to also partake in these.

Players would be able to decide for themselves if they want to out level a character or hold off until completing certain achievements.

It's not the level, since you won't be able to advance levels until WoD comes out. From what they write, it's that classes will change with 6.0 and they seem to be worried that players may be more powerful at the same level.

Yep! I just got it today!! It wasn't bad at all, save for Stormstout Brewery. The last boss in that one is a little bit of a pain but it's not really up to you to handle; the group has to work together as a whole to get into the beams and what not... That's not to say that it isn't difficult, it is. But it's not as bad as people make it out to be as long as you listen and work together.

Oqueue was my life-saver. Being on a dead realm I couldn't find any on my own. It wasn't difficult to find groups that were aiming for Silver only, so It wasn't as stressful as joining a gold group.

I am still struggling to find groups...even on Openraid...1/9 done T.T Was going with my guild until the "core raiders" got wind of CM runs, and took over...

Dammit...I really wanted one of them too...Why do you always retire the cool mounts, Blizz!?? WHYYY
I doubt I'll be able to get one in time, but I'm so glad I found that spare WoW card in my laptop bag the other day. Atleast i can try for one >:D

•Bronze: The “Undaunted” title for achieving a full set of Bronze medals will become account-wide.•Silver: The Pandaren Phoenix mounts awarded for a full set of Silver medals will become account-wide. If any character on an account has earned a full set of Silver medals, all four variants of the Pandaren Phoenix (Crimson, Ashen, Violet, and Emerald) will become available to all characters account-wide.

Well I recently found a group on Openraid and I am now working on getting gold on my hunter.
I have all silvers besides Niuzao but that one is planned for this week as a gold run.

We had a blast its been a while since I had so much fun running with a group XD.

Silver is very doable btw only one that might give some problem is storm stout but once you got the silver run nailed gold is only a couple seconds away actually.

The only one that gave a lot of problem for our group was vaults up till now (still dreading Niuzao and shadowpan *shudder*)

I don't mind helping out after I get this weeks runs done if someone still needs help but I only got a hunter which I can join with
