I started the Witcher series this weekend since I know Witcher 3 is coming out very soon. I am IN LOVE already. For as old as the first game is it looks amazing! The combat took a lot for me to get used to. And the fact there's no jump capabilities. But once I got the mechanics down I was off and running. If the first one is this good I cannot wait to see Witcher 2 and 3.
This thread is for discussion, screen shots and even videos if you've made them. I just started so you can bet I'll have many more screenies to come.
These are all from cinematics just fyi. Game play graphics are very good though.
I got the Witcher 1 and 2 on a Steam deal a few weeks back for really cheap and I am loving it! I am the same the combat took me a bit to get used too (I kept clicking to much ) but I am so enjoying it! The story is good so far and I like the main character and I want to know more about him.
Aaah, I kinda love this series as well! At least, I loved watching a Let's Play of the Witcher 2. XD I actually have the game myself, but my old laptop hated the game, honestly. I either had to go with bad graphics and smooth gameplay, or good graphics and lag. Which sucked because one of my favourite things about the game is the graphics.
Either way, I'm VERY excited for the third game, if only because I'm hoping the person who LP'ed the second game will LP this one as well. XD But really, the series is very, very cool. I really should look up an LP of the first game, because I really cannot get enough of the world the games have. <3
(Fun fact, I actually have a Pokemon in Pokemon Black named after a character from the Witcher 2. XD)
I probably should have give this series a try, but I'm afraid that, having loved the books as a teen, I won't like it enough, and it will tarnish my happy memories and then I will hate it even more :/
(I don't want to reread-after-years those books for the same reason)
Basically, the guys who loved the Witcher books as teens (like a big part of my generation, esp males) grew up, became game makers, and created a thing that combined their love for games and witcher universe - and it shows, or so I've heard.
(Still reluctant, but is it... melting...? Damn! XD )
