My mom was playing on her level 60 hunter and was doing the Shy'Rotam quest. The problem lies in that she wants to tame her mate Sian'Rotam, the white lion.

Well, it seems that Shy doesn't summon him anymore. Or so we've seen and read, she killed Shy without her summoning her mate to come by her side.

Has anyone else around/questing in Winterspring experienced this?

Uh oh, that'd better not be the case!!! I have plans to tame him in the future, especially because my story depends on it!

I'll test that out today with my quest, I hope it ain't true...seeing as we might lose Eche already with the Cata remodeling of Barrens.

hmm, maybe she got killed too fast? i've seen that happen when she was nuked down really hard.

That or she was too far away from summoning her mate. There was a range on how far the call would work on wasn't there?

Updated: First time was a bust, I think what you said might have happened. She might have been too far from the rocks (I don't think so, because mom was right near the rocks) and she might have been taken down to fast.

Second time he showed up and mom was able to Tame without a problem. So as a heads up to hunters wanting to tame him, don't kill her too fast or she might be a bust and you'll have to refarm the meat again.

Good thing that was solved and grats to your mom for the tame, I bet that white lion has a very good home now.

I've tamed him recently, it's yer killing him to fast, runs like 20-30 seconds in the fight when she gets like 20% life she will call him, bare fist fight her slowly and that should cure your summoning problem, -Unknowne-Elune

Well I hope they don't get rid of Echey... hes so cute! and I plan on taming him again once we get more stable slots.
Good memories of leveling a horde hunter just to tame the guy when I was lvl 40 on my ally hunter.
Personally I like the skins of those two, and will probably end up either taming her or Rak shiri later on.

yeah you have to give her plenty of time to summon her mate. Without actually hitting her it can take 30sec+ for her to call him.

and the distance also is a problem. You have to wait for him to call her, and don't be too far away for him to call. Both is a problem. Distance and speed of death

I remembered when both were elites and the fear was always the biggest problem (Which is what happened to my mom first attempt to tame) ah the good ol' Vanilla WoW... How I miss it so.

I hope we can still get Echey come Cat, but by the looks of the maps (When I saw them) The split doesn't effect the Crossroads area, I believe that will remain the same while anything beyond (Camp Tar, etc.) will be the new content area.
