Sorry if this isn't the right place for this or if there's already a thread, but I didn't see one and thought I'd share for those mount collectors who weren't aware.

It isn't a huge announcement but nonetheless awesome. Personally I'm very excited about this, and happy I'll be able to still use some of my favorite mounts regardless whether there is no flying initially on Draenor. Onyxian drake, namely. I've always loved their walk and jump animations anyways :P

Oh cool! Good to know, I have a few flying mounts that I adore the ground animations for.

I was originally against no flying in WoD, because of being unable to use half my collection. But the more I thought about it, the more I came to realise I LIKE the idea of being unable to fly.

Being unable to fly but still able to use my whole collection? THANK YOU BLIZZARD!

Exactly. I was against no flying at the start, when it was first announced, but gradually I became indifferent... Aside from not being able to use some of my favorite mounts, I was never able to see why many were SO against it. Why it was such a big deal.

And now not being able to use my flying mounts isn't even an issue. <3

Hmm.. interesting! Maybe mounts that doesent have any ground animation will get one!! hmm cant wait to see.!

I plan on continuing to use ground mounts as ground mounts wherever there's no flying, as several of my favorite mounts are ground only. Also not keen on having big wings flapping about while I'm trying to click on quest items or the mailbox (granted I pop on the Feldrake every so often just to do it, but not in cities).

Flying mounts, except the Quilen, look ridiculous on the ground and I never use them that way. This change is meaningless and actually a little frightening.

While I can see some people happy about this as they can use mounts that are almost signature to their toons, all I'm seeing is even more morons pulling out huge arse flying mounts and parking them over quest givers, repairs, flight masters etc etc etc and going AFK because they think they're hy-sterically FUNNY.

Yes, I can farm baby spice; it takes time from my limited time and honestly, why SHOULD *I* have to go out of my way because some moron wants to be a pain in the arse? ANd yes, you can open a ticket... that gets looked at 14 hours later and ignored because 3 million more important things are happening.

I'd be a lot more excited if you told me that all important to play NPCs were being boosted to unkillable status and flagged internally so that if someone goes AFK on them they are randomly tossed into a battleground on the enemy side. THAT I'd have endless cheering for, in all honestly.

I don't see how it's frightening. Or why it's even a bad thing. I can understand why some of you worry about people standing over mailboxes and such, but they can do that with large ground mounts already? Plus if I'm not mistaken there's a macro for targeting and interacting with npcs etc.; I've never had to use it so I can't remember it off the top of my head.

I already use my feldrake on the ground frequently, and I think their animations are perfectly fine - I actually love their walk/run, not to mention they're not that much larger than mammoths, or the grand yak.

I beg to differ
I love to see the drakes trotting on the ground, dragging their wings folded on their backs like capes. And their jump animations is just the essence of clumsy cuteness
Same goes for gryphons - they keep that regal, swan-like postrure while running and leaping.

The only ones I don't like are those not having proper ground animations. Not being able to fly looks just ridiculous for them, since they're already hovering anyway, right? But then I'm not using them for a while already - to many times did I presumably landed on a ledge just to slide down the slope to my death after dismounting...

It's frightening because Blizzard has apparently also said that they'll "see what the response" is to not having flying until 6.1...as in, they're starting to consider not giving us flying at all in WoD if not enough people complain about the lack of flying.

And frankly, I rather like flying around. I'd pretty much resigned myself to not flying till level cap and whatever ridiculous quest they planned to give us so that our mounts could magically remember how to fly yet again - but I will not be happy if I can't fly at all in old Draenor ever.

Oh goodness no, Tahlain, I highly doubt that's actually going to be a thing. They introduced a new flying mount as the CE, after all, I don't think they'd ever remove flying completely. That would be a hugely weird change that they've not hinted at at all so far.

I suspect they just want to know how players feel about it so they can see if they have to rush flying or not.

I'm pretty sure all they said is that at the start flying will come out in the first patch and not be at the start.

Well I am sure most people will be happy about this. There are some flying mounts that look good on the ground like any of the Pegasus mounts (sparkle pony, hearthmount) And the griffins. However there are some ground mounts...that just make me sad to see them on the ground, like the dragons and drake mounts. Once I heard there would be no flying I went and got my dream hunter mount, and it is very appropriate for dranor. A talbuk

That's exactly why it's frightening. It seems like they're paving the way to removing flying completely.

I disagree about the Gryphons. They are some of the worst looking as ground mounts and the Protodrakes are simply horrible. The other Drakes are just too big. On the other hand, things like the Panthers and the wingless horses look ridiculous in the air. The Wyverns look much better on the ground than the Gryphons do.

How can they make a Nether Ray a ground mount?

If they completely take away flying even from old zones and the Cata ones that is it I will unsub yea it is a nice thing to have and not having it till 6.1 won't bug me too much but to not have it at all is going too far. I went 1 through 90 on my main 90 Death Knight so yea I have been all over the world on my ground mounts which I don't mind using but when leveling alts I like to power level and go back to finish each zone did it with my main also but without flying around to each quest takes too much time away from playing because it gets boring on ground mounts. Also being on a PVE server we have none of this so called world pvp so to take it away from us is just stupid.
