ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??!?!!? Are we actually (FINALLY) getting gnome hunters in WoD??????

They've already said a few times there won't be any new class/race combos.

It'd take those comments are little more than joking comments.

Yeah, I read it as just friendly banter as well, more of a "oh don't get him started on that topic again" kind of thing.

I know I read it wrong (maybe) but still. One could hope right???

lol I hate gnomes so I hope not I've never been able to lvl them much - all the armour looks silly on their weird little bodies >.> Although they were good for punting in the Beast fight *ducks from gnome fury*

While I neither like nor dislike Gnomes, they really don't feel right to have hunters, so I still hope it never happens.

That aside warriors should be the only class are common to all races anyway

Same here. It wasn't anything saying we're getting a new class/race combo. They said they weren't doing that this time.

There once was a Gnome Hunter in Azeroth but after he was swallowed whole by his pet serpent, no others of the race have had the courage to try again.

I honestly don't understand hatred against this. With the whole "they're too small" argument, they might as well take away Goblin hunters too.

Anyways they have laxed the race/class restrictions so much from original that there really is no reason not to at this point (open up all classes and races).

If a gnome can be a warrior and tank something as big as Ragnaros in MC, they can really do anything. Anything.

Yeah, I feel like gnomes have just as much right to hunters as goblins. Hell, if you want to take the stance that 'gnomes are too busy with tech to care about the wild' then what about goblins and their vigorous attempts to turn everything into a treeless, sludge-covered wasteland? At least the gnomes are SORRY when something goes bad and poisons the environment, and try to clean it up! Goblins just put on waders and tell you to deal with it.

I had my heart set on fem dorf for WoD. If (this is a big if) they gave us gnome hunters I'd be forced to reconsider my choice.

^This. And pandaren are the only other race that have as many class restrictions as gnomes.

I think it's more the fact that from a lore standpoint, gnomes don't care about animals. They're all about machines even more than goblins.

And please dont label me as a gnome hater. I've got an adorable gnome mage and love her to death. I've also got a guildie that's a gnome fanatic and he even agrees with this stance. Got nothin' to do with size.

mmm sorry going to have to disagree. Panda's are "one" with nature and their world lore wise so makes sense to me they'd be one with the creatures too. Worgen are wild so them hunting the forrests with a fellow beast makes sense lore wise too, after all they are firstly humans right? Undead where once alive humans as well so I can see why they'd have a connection to their pets....but gnomes mmm no. Their pets are more likely to eat them! But I'd agree that goblins feel out of place as hunters too. I think lore wise they are from wild islands so if they didn't make nice with the raptors there they might of ended up dinner too. *shrug*

I guess ppl who like gnomes will argue for them until it happens but yeah I think they have enough options for now.

I for one love gnomes and see no problem with gnome hunters what so ever. They've already ret conned so much WoW lore that there's no reason you couldn't have a gnome hunter. *shrug*

I just don't see the point of telling someone that there's no way gnomes could be hunters when you never know what the future holds. Long ago I'd have said NO WAY NIGHT ELF MAGES? Nuh uh! Well they have them now so... Yeah. I know. Highborne but night elves would never have arcane magic users in their society in past expansions. So in my opinion nothing is impossible.

There is nothing in their lore specifically against animals. This is just a stereotype, saying the entire race has to all be the same. Might as well say women don't care about careers; they're all about havin' babies.
