So, you can download the Beta for WoD on Battle.net. I was wondering, once it is downloaded, can we access the files in Wow Model Viewer?

No They've changed the file format from MPQ, which has been used since Vanilla, to an entirely new one called CASC. It apparently will bring a lot more functionality and flexibility to the game files.

However very few people outside Blizzard understand how it works yet. Major sites like MMO-Champ and Wowhead invested a lot of time into reverse engineering it and things that used to take them minutes to datamine have been taking them many hours.

Anyway, they're not likely to give away their hard-earned secrets, so we have to wait until some dedicated third party works it out. So it could be a while before we see WMV working for WoD (or it could be tomorrow! Who knows what stage they're at, if they've even started trying to figure it out )
