Alliance losing another town?

Again?
Just something I'm hearing.
Apparently it's Nethergarde Keep.

???.. the only events of WoD in "our" timeline are where the Iron Horde come through, so it would be something that gets destroyed when that happens. Probably that citadel near the dark portal, which will get overrun by the Iron Horde.. haven't heard anything beyond that.

Nethergarde is a 'town' of sorts. That's what's getting destroyed by the Iron Horde.

Makes sense, the whole point of Nethergarde Keep is to defend against armies coming through the Dark Portal. It'd be unrealistic for the Iron Horde to take Upper Blackrock yet not take/raze Nethergarde Keep.

Of course something on the front lines would get destroyed. More so when they where not expecting a giant horde of angry brown orcs to burst from a portal!

I get WHY it's happening but I admit I find it pretty lame. We already lost Southshore in Cata, which I actually loved. Hopefully we get a brand new town to make up for it. To be honest I dont know if I'm horde or alliance atm anyways. Depends on all the new models and who I like best. XD

There's no reason to think that the Alliance won't rebuild Nethergarde Keep after we've repelled the invasion and disappear through the Dark Portal. As far as I know there won't be any communication until we physically return (6.4?) so they can't sit on their laurels and expect that we've succeeded.

If the iron horde marches through Blasted Lands, I suspect the horde equivalent of Nethergarde won't be unntouched either.

Well it's just an Ogre settlement in Blasted Lands which I think sides with the Iron Horde, and I think Stonard is assaulted. But if it got razed who would notice? And it would take three days to rebuild.
I'm just thankful the Iron Horde appears to ignore Surwich!

I actually thought there was a proper Horde (not ogre) outpost in Blasted Lands. If so, I'd be surprised if it wasn't taken or destroyed, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Don't you Alliance get Karabor? That place is huge, and gorgeous. I'd say you're getting plenty for the destruction of Nethergarde

It's not like hordies aren't getting their base town in Draenor just as well, Lupin. Although I've got to agree: Karabor>>>>>any mudhole they're putting horde into.

There is Dreadmaul Hold and I think that's the one you are thinking off. I think that's going to get attacked too. I can't see the Iron horde taking green orcs lightly.

I am actually wondering how much of Karabor will be open. That place is beyond enormous if it's all open, so I have trouble believing it will be. That's assuming its dimensions aren't too different to Black Temple times.

I guess Netherguard taking the brunt of an invasion through the portal is exactly what it's there for. It's not like Theramore being obliterated.
Lorewise, I think alliance already conquered or destroyed Stonard. At least you take part of a quest chain that does that, then when you're done Stonard reverts to normal horde control as if the event never happened. Probably didn't want to have permanent phasing there.
Dreadmaul Hold (aka Rockard) was the first horde settlement on Azeroth. As of Cataclysm, it's controlled by the horde, specifically orcs who don't like non-orcs. I expect the Iron horde will destroy it or ally with it.
It'd be nice to see Theramore rebuilt, especially since at the end of SoO Varian says he's going to put a Garrison there. Maybe we'll see a preview of Garrison artwork there. But as for city balance, just remember fellow allies, we have Dalaran now.

(slow on lore, and never really played an Alliance toon in 8 years, at least, not higher than level 20)
