So, first part of public Alpha has begun officially. So far invites have only gone for Blizzards friends and some well known streamers and fansites. Good news is that there is no NDA, so they can show and talk about everything they like.

Anyone else excited?

I'd love to see a confirmation of Chimaeron.

Sadly, I don't think we can do anything with that yet:

I would like to see some old and new skins and models, to see if they've been made tameable, though!

OK I'm in. Only Horde characters (all pre-made) are currently available and only Frostfire Ridge is open.
I've so far tamed an Icespine Ravager (new ice blue ravager):
There were tameable pale chimaeras/rylaks flying overheard, called Icewing Drift-Hunters. But they're also level 92 so I haven't been able to confirm that yet.
There are Icecave Bats that are level 90, that are the grey-brown version of the new model, but they're not tamable yet
I also ran into some frost boars of the new model. They were flagged tameable and level 90, but vanished / phased out before I could try
Amusingly, the Gronn in the area are also currently flagged as beasts, but you can't tame them
Since it plonks you right in Frostfire Ridge when you start (and hearthstone set there), I haven't worked out how to get back to the old world yet or I'd be checking old things
Plus it's taking forever as the server keeps going down randomly. I've so not missed this part of beta
Anything else I'll probably report on the pets thread

I hope they will fix the Ravager beast model, though. I think it's intended that they'll use the new skeleton (the one the Grinning Reaver uses. The current beast Ravager model uses the Silithid skeleton without any modification, while the Grinning Reaver's skeleton is a Silithid skeleton with a lot of modification), but I am still sort of scared that they might miss that and stick with Ravagers that blatantly use the Silithid skeleton. Which looks really bad on them, imo. They're a lot more choppy than the Grinning Reaver, and because the wing bones are, for the Silithid skeleton, on the same place as they are on the Silithid (those small, flappy wings), they stick out of the chitin, instead of the way they are underneath the chitin, mostly protected by the armour until they come out for use.

I guess it's too early to find out, since it's horde only so far, but I'd like to know if Worgen can have "running wild" as one of their favorite "mounts".

So did we get the atmosphere back? I mean after Deathwing ate it all and pooped out another sun I am hoping to get some of it back in WoD.

Yeah, no freaky Outland skies this time around

In MoP beta it was very unnerving to see a sunny blue sky over Netherstorm. It was like... someone suddenly turning all the lights on at a night club or something
