Quick question for you guys.

I just finished the questline that ends with the Crimson Watch Battle. I hear there is a way to 'trick' the box into getting both the purple and green Ilidari tabards, but I totally don't know how to do it. Is this rumor true or false? I'd like to get both if I can so I'll hold off on the quest turn-in until then.

There is indeed!

When you receive the box containing the reward tabard, open it to see what's inside but don't loot it yet. Just take a look and then close the window so it stays in the box.

Afterwards, go to one of the Tabard Restorer people (I believe they're only in Dalaran), and you will have an option to restore the Illidari Tabard. Choose the one that isn't in your box, and you'll receive that. Then you open the box and you have both.

I'm glad this caught my eye and that I read about this. I started my Kurenai rep grind an hour or two before I read this and decided when all the quests are out of the way i'll pick this quest up. So I done it, handed in the quest and sold the blue item you get and looked inside the box. I had the purple one. I hearthe'd back to Dalaran and went to the tabard sellers and spoke to the one on the left of the shop and she gave the option to retrieve either one the tabards and chose the green one.

I think I also inspired a guild member to do this too. Or he just decided that he wanted the tabard out of no where. Anyway, I told him how to do it and thought that it might be a lil' tricky for him, so I decided to go along with him helping him with the last 2 waves of the quest and then i had to guide him through Dalaran while I was in Shattrath with my HS on CD...it was a pain until I rememered the tabard people were in the visitors center.

damn, wish this trick was around back when I did it in the Bc days..

My friend helped someone get this which is nice...but when he asks for 200g, well i'm all up for making gold but helping someone practically exploit the game and then asking for 200g does seem a little, well...morally wrong in my opinion.

For those who only have one and wish to chage it's colour from time to time:

what i do when i decide that i rather have green, then purple and so on: i just delete the one i have now and go to restore it;p

I have done this trick so many times and its awesome and I will never stop doing it :>

I'm so doing this when wow comes off maintenance. I've always wanted those tabards but I've been way too lazy to get them. Now I read I can get both, so this is a sign!

I was going to get that tabard, since I liked it very much, and didn't know there was a trick to get both. Now I have both of them, and I'm happy!

You can go to any Tabard Dealer. I always hearth to Orgrimmar and go to the one there.
