I posted this in the big Warlords pet thread, but figured it deserves its own thread!

Tamed with a level 100 premade. I don't believe this forum has spoiler code, so I won't post how to tame him directly (I know some would prefer to figure it out for themselves), but it's in "spoiler text" in my blog post:

Very cool pet!

Thank you thank you! Awesome to know the strat and that he can be tamed. Such a neat pet, my troll must have him!
Well done on being the first to tame him.

I'm happy for people who want him. Not my cup of tea!

It's true that the look isn't for everyone, but for me I think he looks like a Franken-Metroid so I'll definately tame him on one of my hunters for sure!

Ahh, the method was about what I expected it to be for him.
He's a pretty neat hydra, though personally I am not a fan of "stitched" type pets.

That's awesome!

I love that they even went and gave him a little mechanic. I'm not sure if I'll be picking him up myself, but I'm so glad he's tameable!

Great job!
Also, Chimaeron is great for Undead hunters.

Congrats on the tame! It's really awesome.
I have a question though. How did you manage to make a level 100 premade? I can only make a level 90 one..

Create a character on the mekkatorque server. It gets auto leveled to 100 along with full 660 ilvl pvp gear. The server is only meant for pvp testing and other general testing. Can't go to Draenor on this realm at the moment.

Congratulations!! That's a great achievement and handy to know
On your way through, you didn't happen to check the drakeadons, did you?

I couldn't resist and went to pick up Chimaeron myself after seeing this, and I did actually check them! They are, sadly, still not tameable

Tried both beast lore and tame beast

You know, I've never named a pet with the same name as it was when it was wild, but Chimaeron is too good of a name to pass up for me.
Also, I'd love to see a video of the tame being done.

GZ Bendark! That's one adorably-ugly pet you've got there
Not sure if I'll be getting him for my main, but he'll sure find a home among my many hunter alts. Most probably the Forsaken one

That. Is. So. COOL.
I'll be picking up a Chimaeron of my own, I think, once WoD goes live.
Also, the new male dwarf model looks great! The detail is most excellent. I hope female dwarves are just as awesome.

Copied from the potential new hunter pets thread:
I sent Muffinus a bunch of tweets, making suggestions of possible extensions of Chimaeron's tameable status, and the challenge tame idea. If the idea grows, it could really breathe life into pet collecting beyond just taming. As the system grows more and more sophisticated, the challenges could get more and more elaborate. (not necessarily nearly impossible in terms of difficulty, just elaborate)
This would mean that what they tried with rare pets could actually work out here. These boss pets could become trophies, unique pets as rewards for challenges. The idea honestly excites me.
Just off the top of my head, bosses that could become challenge tames: Tortos(Turtle), Ji-kun(Bird of Prey), Beth'tilac(Spider), Oondasta(Devilsaur), Horridon(Direhorn), Thok the Bloodthirsty(Devilsaur), Fankriss the Unyielding(Worm), Kurrinaxx(Worm), Gluth(Dog).
If Silithid Sandreavers become tameable, the loss of uniqueness for Fankriss and Kurrinaxx (not necessarily, but possibly) wouldn't matter as much, as they're still low level pets, and would more so be challenges for.. say, level 70/80 hunters. However, Tortos, Ji-kun, Oondasta, Horridon, Thok, Gluth and Beth'tilac would be unique models.
So when you see a hunter with Beth'tilac as a pet (Beth'tilac is a beast), you can see "Hey, he did that medium-hard challenge tame! Cool!" as opposed to what they tried with rares, which turned out more like "Hey, he camped for a while. Cool.. I suppose?". (averted, somewhat, in MoP. The track tames were pretty cool, but don't offer a lot of special stuff in terms of models. If they had gone with unique models, and track tames, that would've made it even better)
