To paraphrase one of my favorite movies:
Boss, you use your mouth prettier than a 20 dollar hooker!

I don't mind voicing my opinion, and my opinion is that the act itself is fine, between a husband and wife. I'm old-fashioned, and I very much dislike how today's American society shoves it in my face everywhere I look. To me, it's not something that should be shared with anyone and everyone like cookies at a bake sale. So many diseases and unwanted babies could probably have been avoided if some folks didn't treat it so lightly. It should be an act of love with the person you've sworn to share your life with.
I'm not trying to offend anyone here, though. What everyone does with their own life is their decision and it is not my place to judge, I'm just stating how I feel about it and how I've treated it in my life. My hubby's my first and last, and I'm very happy with that decision.
If mods decide this thread is innappropriate, then that's fine, but I don't mind speaking my mind about it.

I hope I wasn't lewd or anything either.

Lol, that's fine! Like I said, I apply my view to my own life and what others do is up to them. I wasn't trying to cram anything down anyone's throat (good lord, that sounded bad...*waits for Ryno*), so I apologize if I came across as preachy. I certainly wasn't trying to be.

This is a subject that can be very sticky*literally as well as figuratively) Sex has alot of pro's. 1) The best cardio known to man 2) brings people in a relationship closer to gether 3) creates life 4) releases endorphines and such improving a persons mood (this goes especially for women as a study showed that women that have more sex (within reason) are happier, and women that use a form of birth control that doesn't envolve a condom are even happier as the semen causes a chemical reactive release of certain neurolocical chemicals) but it also has alot of con's 1)dehydration 2) unwanted pregnancy 3) disease 4) bad rep 5) increased chance of ending up in a very unpleasant situation (anything from crabs to rape/murder)
This IMO is something that is best taken carefully, and in moderation. Remember even drinking too much water can kill you.

hmm
i made this poll and didnt even mention my opinion.
Well to me sex is nowadays really overated:
What i mean is that i see on tv/ hear from other friends of mine
girls from 14 or 15 that have had that experience. Or even that damn program on MTV teener mothers ... /or other movies like America Pie / or like what Vespias said:
To paraphrase one of my favorite movies:
Boss, you use your mouth prettier than a 20 dollar hooker!
i mean where is this world going to?
call me oldschool or whatever but i personally hate the way that everything is shown to the people through the media... and especialy to Kids which are innocent

I share the same opinion as Rhyela.

I to share the same opinion as Rhyela but at the same do not "save myself for marriage". I was raised in a very christian faith but don't follow fully what's believed. Yes I think it's overrated and there's to much of it in the media and whatnot. My 14 year old niece should not be trying to dress and look like a hoochie but ......... she does and is punished heavily by my sister when caught.
Strangely this is another hot button topic.
But for me, I will test the waters before I commit to a marriage or very long term relationship. I don't 'give it up' easily or quickly. But it will happen. But yet, it's overrated, over amplified and constantly pushed.

Eh, it really differs from person to person. As does the experience of it, I think.
Asking if "sex is overrated" is like asking "is <type of food> overrated". You're going to get a lot of opinions about it, because everyone has their own taste.

tbh sex is overrated imo, mostly as people either treat it without responsibility, or seem to mistake humping eachother like mad rabbits = love.
Not saying sex is bad, but, just sick to death of the hype I've heard idiots do over how 'good' it is or how 'bad' it is or how much 'he/she/it loes you because they just want to get in your pants and **** your brains out'.
Yeah and once the sex is over, what's left? Nothing.
Relationships are built on more than just friends with benifits to whats in your pants.
