It's been suggested that the garrison is more like the capital than the Ashran hubs, so I've got a couple of questions for those in beta.

1) Are the city chat channels (Trade and LFG) enabled in the garrison?
2) Is there a protected place (with npc guards) outside the garrison for people to meet without being in the same group? Like if you're crafting an item for someone, but one of you is queued or already in a group.

1) No, not at this point anyway.

2) No.

The garrison really is you farm on steroids, with a bit of the Sims, Clash of Clans, and a few other things thrown in.

I know there's still a big fuss about capitals and garrisons, but..

If you actually just take the garrisons at face value, and look at what blizz has designed them as, I think they might actually be kinda fun.

They mentioned on twitter yesterday they will consider adding trade chat and an auctioneer.

Most of the other features (bank, portal, etc.) are already available if you choose the right buildings.
