I hope this is the right place to put this, if not I apologize.

With the Pre-Launch hitting the live servers very soon, I know some of us will immediately start taming some of the new pets (Talbuks, Clefthooves, Hydras, Stags, etc) in the old world, Pandaria and Outlands while waiting for the full Draenor release.

I figured I would offer up Spirit of Atha as one of those pets you might consider for your stables. She is tamable on the PTR as of now and should remain so when the pre-launch goes live.



Requirements to Tame:

• You have to be a hunter, either faction (duh!)
• You need to be on US Realms (sorry EU players! )
• You have to be at least level 80 (Atha spawns as an 80)
• You have to be in, or able to get to, Sholazar Basin in Northrend
• You have to have one spot on your hunter to tame a new pet

Possible Requirement to Tame:

• You need to be in Beast Mastery spec (I can't recall if Hydras were exotic or not..)

"Why can't I just go get my own Atha, why do I need you?"
Well, you may very well be able to go get your own Atha, and not need me at all, I don't know. I do know she is a spawned creature, that requires an Oracle daily (A Cleansing Song). This daily has a history of being stubborn, to the point that many people thought it had been removed from the game entirely. New hunters/boosted hunters or your alts may not have bothered with Oracle rep, or you may have gone with Frenzyheart instead. In this case, I can definitely help.

Atha can be summoned multiple times with one chime, the cooldown on resummoning her is 1 minute. I can cross realm group with you so we phase into the same area, I'll summon her and you can tame her and then go stand around one of the cities showing her off.

If anyone might be interested in having an Atha, toss me a Bnet request. Soon as pre launch hits, I'll head out to Sholazar to summon and tame my own Atha, yours can be there too.

However, its a PVE realm I have the charm on, so horde or alliance toons could come out and tame what I summon. If we need to chat we can link realID, no party is necessary. I've been able to see other peoples' Atha summons without being in their groups.

Not big on hydras but this one looks really cool as it gets closer I will have to add you to my list and thank you for doing this.

Heeeeeeeeeeeey, If this still stays tameable when the pre-patch drops next week, I would love to hit you up for some help with this on my Troll hunter! Throw up an update and I'll toss you my battlenet that day if I'm not able to see you via CRZ.

Koosu is still labeled as a beast by WoWhead so you never know. But I seriously doubt it since it's NPC ID is what's labeled as not tamable

The slimes think they are crocolisks and Atha has been labeled a hydra for a while now, I doubt the tamability change for the hydras will effect them.

Atha is still looking like a go for the October 14th prelaunch, on the PTR as of Oct 11th she is still tamable, really hoping Blizz doesn't put a stop on this at the last minute. I do still have the chime on my Hyjal US hunter, and will be off and on at random times all through prelaunch to summon her for whoever would like a tame.

Helping out Horde and Alliance!

ill summon for both sides so ill spare you horde just this once

so from 4-5am till 7:50-8am and from 2-3pm and till before wod live on november hit im willing to help all who want to tame him.

Ill be sitting at Mistwhisper Refuge where the other hydras are. if all are patient and no fighting over who gets the 1st tame it should go smoothly and less hassle. i wont bother summoning him with everyone fighting over its 30second respawn

Should be tamable tomorrow after server maintenance, unless Blizz is trolling us hard! For those of you on the US realms wanting to tame her, toss me a Btag request anytime: Swiftarrow#1560. I already have my hunter parked out there ready to summon Atha as needed on the south side of Bittertide Lake in Sholazar Basin. Horde or Alliance are fine, I can group with either faction and pull you over to the realm I'll be summoning her on.

Cross your fingers for tomorrow/ or whatever it is up for your own irl time.
ill def be up at 4am with my bf so ill have 3-4 hours to wake up and before i go to my tafe to summon this beauty for you all on the eu servs - look for Ziroth the worgen hunter hanging arround at mistwhisper refuge and ill start the summon wave

Congrats to those of you I have been able to help get your very own Spirit of Atha! Hope you all enjoy him/her. Including those of you who just happened to be in the area but were not on my list... if you're reading this, I hope you enjoy your Atha too!

I'm still more than willing to summon Atha for anyone else on US Realms, Horde or Alliance. Just toss me a Btag request: Swiftarrow#1560 I have my summoning toon parked in Sholazar now, on the south side of Bittertide Lake. She's Horde, but I can get Alliance toons zoned over as well with just an additional toon hop on my part - so if you alliance hunter wants Atha, I can still help.

Have had a few of you offer me different types of payment for doing this... I don't expect ANYTHING in return for this, so don't worry about it! Just pay it forward to someone else sometime.

Also wanted to mention, please don't take it personal if I remove your name from my friends list after you get your Atha. I had about 20 new friend requests, in addition to my own existing friends list, and it got a bit overwhelming. I removed people as they got their Atha so I didn't get confused.

If any of you need her and are connected to Lightbringer US, I've been out there summoning a ton of em for folks.

how odd, cannot see other eu servers.. am i the only one having this issue?
blackrock chars can connect and see other us servs but eu servs i cant see any of my friends at all while grouped... verry strange..

must be a bug or something.
