Owl trick/bug?

So I am going through my stables right now clearing out all of the unused pets I have and reading through all of the new buffs to figure out who i will be rotating in and out of raids, when I met up with Tassadar, my poorr little Olm tame who had not seen light since level 70.
I remember owls not actually doing anything if you asked them to do a trick but now they do!....er...sort of. I decided to check just in case and to my suprise Tassadar did do "something." it wasn't much of a trick but he quickly dropped down to the ground and sat there frozen for a second or two. I'm assuming something is bugged but i'm not sure if its all birds or if this is just a failed attempt at giving the older models a sitting animation. Are any other birds doing this? I know my Crane is still jumping fine but since he is in a different family any possible bugs may not affect him.
It is not much but it is a little encouraging considering how many of us would like our birds to land
