Rarest pet from Burning Crusade?

I mean at the time. I'm making a throwback transmog, burning crusade style, and I prefer everything rare (rare armour, legendary bow, rare mounts, rare pet) but only what was available to people at the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. What was the rarest pet introduced in BC? Was it a certain skinned Warpstalket, a unique skinned Ravager? I wasn't capped when I played then, but I want to represent its glory (even though I liked WotLK more, BC had much more style, and had less negatives overall also). Cheers.

Huh. Oddly enough, when I really think about BC, I don't remember too many "rare" pets in that expansion. There were some lesser seen pets, but they weren't rare mobs, just not common tames.

Ironjaw comes to mind, for one. At the time, he was a unique skin, but also a quest mob, so he was usually always up.

This guy always pops into my head when I think rare, seeing as I never saw him during BC, both tamed and wild.

Never really saw this guy, either, since he's in Sunwell Plateau, and you probably needed help from your guild to get to him.
I'm rather terrible at these things, though. >.> I played my shaman during BC, and my hunter was sadly abandoned, so I really didn't get around much when it came to taming stuff, which is why my hunter is now always the first to get leveled.

I'm pretty sure I got my Grimtotem Spirit Guide in BC.. Since that's when Meta gems were a big thing and all. I remember I had to get a helm with some special meta gem in it that would proc as I spammed aspects.. Then had a shammy use Heroism (BL) as it proced so I could tame the guide that my priest friend spawned with a MC'd NPC.
So if glitch pets count, I would say that would be one of the rarest.

I'd say Nuramoc is the rarest during BC. He's quite a challenge to find since he has an insanely long spawn timer. Though if we wanna go by BC standards, no hunter would've used him anyway. I believe during BC, most people used only cats and wolves as well as devilsaurs and ravagers. So if you really want to be a pure BC set, you'd probably want to go with a pet that most people used back then. Ironjaw would be an excellent choice or a ravager. :3

Grim totem spirit guide would have been the "rarest" in terms of difficult to get, but is no longer available(But Karoma looks the same!) but I remember the Death ravager being a thing, as ravagers were very popular in BC.

During BC... chimeras weren't tamable & the blue dragonhawk was too high level to tame at the time.
Most people had wolves or ravengers so maybe look at other pets like warp stalkers or spore bats. There weren't a lot of actual tamable rares in BC.

This.
So if you want a truly rare pet go with a warp stalker. I NEVER saw them used back in BC. It's was always cats or wolves I saw. I was on Bloodhoof server back then. Seemed like only cats and wolves were used. I rarely saw ravagers used.

I know that, even though he shared the same model and skin as King Bangalash, Hawkbane was really popular but is also a rarespawn. I'm not sure of many others that were scarce but desireable that were within the level range then but Hawkbane was definitely one I remember people talking about that came from that expansion

Both the red Warpstalker and the Black Warpstaler would have been *the* rarest pets both in that xpack and for many xpacks to come until probably cata. this was due to them only being tamable for a short amount of time before the black one could not longer be tamed and the red ones were removed half way through BC and did not return until a few xpacks later.
I don't recall many rare bc mobs you could actually tame. Nuramoc was probably the hardest on for me to find and the blue Dragonhawk was tricky until you outlvled the raid by quite a bit.

The rare Vanilla cats were still very popular; Humar was still the only black lion, and the rare Winterspring saber Rak-shiri was still very much sought after. Ravagers were very popular due to dealing double damage with their Gore ability (Gore and Claw outranked Bite before they made all pet damage the same). There was a ravager that was part of a lvl 10 warrior quest in the draenei starter area - the earliest ravager to appear in BC, otherwise you had to wait until you were in Outlands to tame one. Many Horde would trek all the way over there in the hopes a draenei would let the ravager out of the cage so they could tame them. Windserpents were also popular due to their lightning breath ability ignoring armor or something like that. I remember the "Outlands model" windserpents being the most popular, but I believe all of the rare versions were back on Azeroth and used the old school models.
Those were the big three for damage dealing at that time, anyways. When I wasn't raiding, I palled around with a green warpstalker for fun.

My favorite BC pet is the armored Wolf from Shattered Halls. It was a bit of a challenge to solo tame one. I had people asking me where I got the clothes for my pet. lol
That black Warpstalker was much sought after while it was available.
The cats in the Blood Elf area, while not rare, were new additions too. So were the Dragonhawks.

Neither of these warp stalkers were tamable in BC, only the green & whites were. Red wasn't tamable when when game & black was too high level.
The armored wolf wasn't tamable in BC either.
Animals from the opposing BC starting areas were usually rareish, like the Lynx & Dragonhawks from the BE area.

Sadly the rare hunt has been taken out in warlords

takes a lot of fun out of taming

I agree Sabrewulf.
For Burning Crusade, everything felt new and fresh to me so honestly every pet felt rare. I remember seeing someone with the Grey Tarantula skin from Teldrassil and I think I haven't seen a single hunter with that pet since so that's my vote.

Yeah I remember going after it myself. spent like two hours with damn things to not get one to spawn, I gave up and went and leveled and then ran across Humar now that was a fun back a rare leet that could two shot someone his level very quickly. I had that cat for about 20 levels till I got King B still have that King B in my stables.

I'd love to use a spider now but their one of the few pets that don't have an actual useful ablity. They are still considered a pvp pet and I don't pvp

As far as rare spawns go in BC there was very a limited supply but i would have to say my Grimtotem Spirit would have to be top on my list. Only because there was a specific process in gear and heroism being used then for them to take it away making it even more rare.
