6.1 PTR model tweaks [Image Heavy]

Patch 6.1 is on the PTR today and though the new blood elf models aren't there yet, there are a bunch of great tweaks that have really improved upon some of the other race models. There might be more than what's listed here, I found out about the dwarves on my own. Also worth mentioning, male night elves had their run animation improved, though I don't have a video of it at the moment EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA_Mqxi_uTo

Human females had some small facial tweaks that improved their expressions/makeup to be more reminiscent of the originals:


Tauren have black fur again, not that washed out grey colour:


Draenei females had some great face changes including getting rid of that strange blue eye colour and improving the mouth and features a bit:


Female tauren had face changes as well, mostly centered on the noses. On another note their spotted fur colours have spots on the back legs again!


And human males don't have pineapple beards anymore:


I'm personally ECSTATIC over the female dwarf face changes. They were the one revamp that I really felt Blizzard had dropped the ball on, I couldn't play them at all anymore even though I used to have a few female dwarf alts that I was fond of. Now they're adorable again!

A bit sad to see female Tauren are still gonna have a harelip, but at least they're making improvements!

The Female tauren look like they kind of have been eating brown stuff and have not washed it off >.>

I assume there are no options not to have the dark color around the mouth? Lighter coklours would work better with the lighter skin tones.

The changes definitely make them feel a little less alien to me. A little more sympathetic. Can't wait till I get home and can check it out. I hope white Tauren got a change too. The colour of mine is currently less like a healthy cow white and more like a pasty corpse skin. Almost like there was a faint tint of green :p

Ahhhhh these tweaks make me so happy.

I STILL wish they'd just close the female taurens mouth.. but at least the facial markings are more accurate.

Hmm i like almost all of them.. but the human female.. i liked her better without the heavy makeup..

The male NE run looks much better. The others are okay but no big deal. I actually like the Draenei eyes better as they are now.

The tweaks are looking much better! So happy to see the female dwarves were improved; I was *not* happy with the live ones. I'm interested to see if they will do more work on the undead, bringing some of the newer faces more closely inline with the old ones (the old female skull face, for instance).

Ahh I'd hope so too! There's also the detail of the jawless male undead having the same green tongue no matter which skin colour you choose, where before the tongue changed colour with it.

In any case, I'm so so pleased by all of these tweaks and it has me hopeful for the future that Blizz is listening to some of the suggestions and fine-tuning our characters.

With the Female tauren mouths how light are they on the lighter skins? I dunno I think if they are darker they'd look a bit off XD

I.... I think I may need to roll a "Dark Iron" theme'd dwarf now... I really truly do not like male dwarves but I always liked the females. I only ever had one though and I deleted her forever ago (beyond restore via the button) but there were no ash-y grey skin tones for them when I had made her so no loss really unless they allow players to change skin colors on all races. I've aaaaaaaaaalways wanted to look like a Dark Iron dwarf so I'm super excited that I can be one and actually have an "irritated" face rather than a indecisive one (the example of the new 6.1 face in the OP gives off the said expression I really want, since I don't like the down right angry faces some races have the option to use)

Ahhh these look much better! Its amazing what some extra eyelashes can do. glad my little space goats will have less creepy eyes. Could not stand how they looked against the really dark skin colors.

I hope we see the undead face straps tweaked. And I hope my night elf finds her eyelashes again.

I'm weird, I'm gonna kinda miss the male nelf Baywatch run. (Then again, my nelf is kind of a bubblehead so it suited him, haha.)

I also noticed that the gnome girls have gotten some sleep finally.

I'm very glad to see female Tauren having their old coat patterns back instead of being stuck with the male patterns like they are now. For some reason, leg spots make a big difference. Now if only they'd fix their upper lips and make them stop being mouth breathers, the models would be near perfect.
