I revisit isle of tunder found a cool
Plated dire horn as well as a mount looking dire horn, hope petopia can include them in the list...

I'm assuming he's talking about the armored direhorns in the upper half of the zone, like these guys:

As far as I know we haven't been able to tame any of them (nor the armored devilsaurs), but it would be neat!

They're not but here's what's on WoWHead:
Which clearly says "Tameable (Direhorn)". It even has a different NPC ID than the Direhorns on Petopia. So that could be causing some confusions I suspect.

wowhead often lists mobs from tamable families as being "tamable" even when certain members aren't actually tamable.

Yeah, WoWhead does that but they mean the family, not the actual mob itself.

Yes I know that. But a new /returning player may not. Hence my saying "So that could be causing some confusions".

It would be so cool if they were.
But Petopia tends to list saddled / armoured beasts only if there's already a tameable mob of that model. Otherwise it would just snowball.

I guess it's not out if the realm of impossibility by any means. They had wolves and raptors, both tamable since vanilla and then added in armored/saddled tamable versions at later dates. Though as Wain has mentioned, no point adding them if there is no such model tamable just yet. Could you imagine adding every mount/armored beast that is also in a pet category into the database! I'd hate to think of the ammount of work... /shudder

Eek....we'd have a very LARGE list of untameables.

I've added the Zandalari armoured devilsaurs and armoured direhorns to the untameables thread, under other models. See:

All possible armour/skin combos are displayed. Some look better than others. Next I'll try to identify which are used in the game already and and add names.
