My Guilty Pleasure

It seems that I have become quite fond of my new undead warlock, Dumont. It's not the class so much, but the race! I'm usually an Alliance character, rah-rah, etc. However, there's something about the undead male that just makes me adore him. I think it's his little hunched scamper. I love his run! Plus, I got one of the facial features with the dangly jaw ("cheeky slackjawed", I think it's called), so he looks all derpy. Oh, and then he's got a bald head but long hair. He's like this silly, derpy, hobbling little zombie of shadow and doom. Har! I also have always really liked the Undercity. It reminds me so much of Tim Burton's stuff, so I love it.
I've played undead before, but always females, and I don't remember liking them quite this much. Hurray undead!

It's just that I almost feel like it's a guilty pleasure. I have to sneak off from the Alliance for a while to indulge this darker side, wreaking havoc with my adorable zombie guy and his trusty (but expendable) demons.
Also, I must say that I really feel this nerdy sense of "belonging" with the Forsaken, in a way I haven't really felt with another race that I can remember. The beginning quest lines do a very good job, in my opinion, of making you feel some solidarity with the other Forsaken, and I feel a genuine sympathy for their plight. I don't always agree with their methods or their outlook (wanting to plague everything), but I can definitely understand where they're coming from.
^.^

The Forsaken are awesome. I love their starting area. I think questing through SIlverpine and Hillsbrad, doing the Forsaken-themed stuff out there, is some of my favorite content. They have so much character.

Hahaha I love that picture of him. It seems to capture his personality so well. xD Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself.
When I can get my pve heirlooms back in the next patch I may bring my broody ex-paladin to (un?) life at long last. I really do love the questing zones the Forsaken get. I Often send all my horde toons to go quest in Silverpine.
I recently Leveled up my undead warlock to get the green fire title before it was removed and my little undead female, Rem really started to grow on me during the level grind.
She struck me as someone who took a dark amusement to her condition. Not very lady like, has a rather amused, macabre outlook on everything... I think she likes to sleep in bogs and spook anyone passing by her sleeping spot.
Bogs are just so good at preserving things you know. Good for her skin. >.>
I think i just really like how far outside of the "norm" undead seem to be. it gives you a chance to create characters with some really weird quirks that would not fit in as well with many of the other races.

The new Undeads seem to be quirkier than the old models. They now a grumpy face too! Reminds me of my idea for an Undead Priest, who basically looks like some zombie curmudgeon who would Mind Blast people off of his lawn. (Not sure if I'm actually gonna level him though.)

My second lvl 100 toon is my Undead Warlock. The class seems to fit the race perfectly and I play him as Demonology. He was actually my first main character ever but he was created on a PvP server and my guild decided one day to up and start over on a different server. He kept getting ganked by lvl 60 Aliance patrolling out of Southshore while trying to do the Hillsbrad quests. I then decided to make another toon on a regular server and my Tauren Druid Welldun was born. I played him up to 51 while poor Walmarticus (the 'Lock, named while I was working at Walmart) languished at 28. He was then deleted and reincarnated on the same server as the Tauren. He got to 22 that time and then languished once again. About that time, Danielfboone was born on Draka and quickly became my new main. He reached level 70 before the Tauren ever gained a level past 51. I decided I missed my 'Lock so he and the Tauren came over on a free transfer. Walmarticus quickly got to 28, sat there for a long time before I deleted him and resurrected him again in Cata to level through the new revamped zones (which were now much better than in Vanilla). He reached 54 by the end of MoP. When I bought WoD, I decided to use the free boost on the 'Lock so I could play the Xpac from both sides. He is "living?" proof that the Forsaken are truly undead. He is now in his third (or is it fourth) incarnation but to me, he's still the same quirky, slightly crazed, dabbler in the dark arts, and loosely connected bag of bones he was from the beginning.
I also greatly enjoy the Forsaken and Undercity. The startup of an Undead toon is hilarious and their apothecaries are the mad scientists of WoW. They are definitely the most fun Horde race to play and their story elicits a high degree of empathy even though they gravitate towards the evil side a lot. They really wanted to be part of the Alliance and fight alongside their former friends and family but the Humans, especially the Paladins, rejected them and even hunted them down. They are only in the Horde for safety but really only have allegiance to themselves and the Dark Lady.
The new quests in Silverpine Forest that were introduced in Cata are awesome when seen from the Undead perspective. They really take the forefront there.

I got a pic of Dumont today with his Demonology horn thingies. I'm not real fond of the horns, and I kinda wish I could hide them, but it made for an amusing screen shot.
I'm finally starting to like Demonology a bit. It's fun watching Dumont hobble around with his bouncy imp entourage at his heels. :3
And his favorite companion (the piggish blob, not the VW):
