Hah I think by now everyone pretty much knows I am all for Arakkoa. I came up with a ton of different ways they could become a playable faction but to shorten things up I will just say I think they would make a great neutral faction. The questline in spires opened up communications with the horde/alliance and they have power and technology both factions would find useful. with Skyreach pretty much in ruins and the Iron hoard breathing down their neck I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to say that the Arakkoa would probably want to seek allies from our two factions.
I don't know who the faction leaders would be. Perhaps Anzu and his mate, however unconventional that may seem.
Also I think that with the connection many of them have to Anzu they may even have the chance to become druids, which would be nice. there are so few druid options in the game and if they were neutral you would not have to find a second race to balance out the availability between horde and ally.
To be honest I have a lot of OCs that would make perfect Arakkoa (one of them even being a plucky avian engeneer!) so i have a bunch of names reserved just in case. >.< I would probably have to race change my main as well if they became playable.

I wouldn't mind the Jinyu either. I was kind of surprised we did not get them when they were relevant but i guess if ally got Jinyu then Hoard would have to get Hozen and those guys would probably be harder to animate and properly outfit with xmog.
Basically I want another beast race that breaks the commonly seen mold of "cat man" or "lizard man"


Don't like Quillboar and don't think Mogu would ever be humble enough to join anyone.
Not a fan of saberon or ogers either but in all honesty I was surprised we did not get them at the start of Wod. Thought it would be the perfect time for the ogers to come in. Also did not expect Blizz to make the Saberon more of a "pest" race. thought we would atleast get a faction and quest hub from them.

as for sub races, i don't think they should count as a "new" race but as a much needed customization option to existing ones.

And if Saberon is playable it's a horde race not alliance because werewolves and werecats on same page? Lol yeah right.

I love quilboar and think they deserve a lot more attention than they get. Still, they have (prototype) models of both genders, a reason to grudge the Horde, and an Ancient to follow giving them a tie in with the nelfs (why does EVERYONE have to tie in with the nelfs?? Dang nelfs.) Also it'd give Ally another shaman-capable race.

Horde can get kittymen (maybe it'd thin out the belf population a little?), and people can make lots of 'cats and dogs fighting lol' comics for the website.

Ogres are neat lorewise, but I think they're just too freakin' big for a player race. Tauren are on the upper limits of passable (and even then you get caught in doors in Undercity and make it hard for people in LFG dungeons to target past you)...and ogres are even BIGGER. They'd have to be some kind of weird mutant dwarf-ogre race... and who wants stumpy ogres.

I don't think we'll see 'fel' anything since fel=burning legion and we all know they're working up to Sargeras Baddiness sometime.

I think Bliz has already mumbled about subraces being possible at some point, but it's likely to just be 'palette swap' races like the 'gray' dwarf skins coming along with glowing red eyes or blue troll skins having more fur texture. Or adding a few like 'brown orc'. But it's problematic in a way because there's races that don't HAVE conceptualized subraces (like gnomes. Sand gnomes are just gnomes with a bushman aesthetic..., also worgen, elves, goblins...) and players of those races would probably feel really left out.

I honestly dont want Horde to get Kittymen. I want them to be neutral or alliance. I sure as hell dont want to get quilboar as the alliance equivalent if by some chance the saberon did become horde. ><;

Agreed and really the whole "omg alliance got the werewolves!" argument feels like a copout and slippery slope considering the Horde had Tauren long before Alliance had any fuzzy races and worgen made sense to go to the Alliance due to the Gilnean lore behind them(which was in the Alliance since way back when). Plus, Saberon are NOT werekitties, far as I know by lore. The only 'werekitties' are just druids, which aren't faction exclusive, on that note. Granted, Blizz may expand on their lore. I don't think there's a whole lot about them.

Another thing that supports neutrality for Saberon? 1. They're aggressive to BOTH factions. 2. BOTH factions have Saberon followers in their Garrison.

I'd love to hear an argument about why Saberon should be Horde other than "Alliance has werewolves". Something a bit more solid.

(This isn't directed at any playful comments. This was more directed at people being serious about that. )

I would love Ogres too really. I got a soft spot for Cho'gal, hee!

I think at this point if we get new races, they're going to be really new (as in ye olde pulled out of Blizzard's ass). Whatever the next expac is (still holding out for Heart of Azshara or whatever it was called), they'll be tied into that like the tuskarr were. I'm actually a little surprised the tuskarr -weren't- a playable race since they have really well developed models and don't even steal rigging from another race (like jinyu, saberon, or taunka). But again, they're a) a neutral faction so would have to have a setup like pandas, and b) they're a fat race and we already have a neutral chubby race as it is. People would just be all OMFG IT'S PANDAS ALL OVER AGAIN. Also there's no female model.

Seeing as how we've gotten animal-like races the past couple of times (worgen and pandaren - goblins too of course), I would personally like to see a humanoid race for the next one. I don't have anything against animal races, but I would just personally like to see them change it up next time. I don't have any ideas as to what they could use, but I'm sure there's some race out there that could be used.

GNOLLS. I would like gnolls. Hyena-men ftw.

I'm not sure what's left for non-bestial humanoids though, they've hit all the major fantasy tropes: humans, elves, gnomes, goblins, orcs, dwarves (even demons!) There's ogres but they've been passed over so many times there must be some reason they haven't been tagged. Giants are too big by definition.

Pretty much every other fantasy trope out there is some kind of beastman.

Drakonid would be neat, though again they'd have to be shrunk to be playable, and would need a seriously upgraded model. Maybe they untied themselves from the dragonflights after the depowering of the Aspects and are now bent on making their own way in the world.
