Not sure how I missed this before now, but the new patch brings a new colour for Draenor boars: red. I don't think any other site has reported this, but they do tend not to notice things that don't have a new model for them.

It looks perhaps a little demonic, like an Eredar piggy. It hasn't appeared in the game yet (that we know of) but I guess time will tell what its purpose is.




(And in case anyone is wondering, I haven't noticed a corresponding red mount skin. Would be awesome, though!)

I was surprised that there wasn't a red version sooner, considering the old outlands red felboars...Seems their counterpart may finally be making an appearance. It would make sense for them to appear in Taanan considering it is the counterpart of Hellfire peninsula

Not just for the boars. There's quite a few unused skins for many of the animals that are just spectacular. Wolf, Cat, Boar, Birds... you name it.

There are still some but perhaps not as many as you might think. Jeremy 'Muffinus' Feasel has a long history of getting missing skins into the game, going back to the Cata beta.

Here's what is still unavailable, except for maybe a few recent things:

If you scroll down a few posts you'll see a list of the literally hundreds that have been added to the game since Cata. Almost all are Jeremy's work.

Finally a Draenor boar for Kahlua lovely color!

As there has not been a true new "Felboar" my Guess is that this Helboar may be attached to the new BM 4p Tier.

Oh! Now that's a good thought. You could well be right!

There's nothing in the spreadsheets of the current patch to indicate the skin is being used yet. Hopefully the next one

Currently the old Outland Felboar is summoned for the 4p bonus. This NPC specifically: http://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=95021/felboar

Perhaps a green version of a Draenor boar is still to come.

BTW, the T18 gear is supposed to be available for testing in the next build (hopefully tomorrow)

Hmmm, I wonder if that's just an over site... I've yet to see them use one of those BC boar models yet in WoD.

But then Alliance STILL have the BC model Talbuks mounts as the zones special in Nagrand, so who knows

But as always, time will tell.

Cool, thanks for that info! I had that felboar on a list of unfound NPCs, but that explains it. It does seem very likely that it's a placeholder for a new boar. While they still do place old models in Draenor it seems extremely unlikely they'd use an old one for a fancy new armour proc. I guess we wait and see if it's the red boar or if there's a new fel one. I'm hanging out for the next build!

Off topic, but the fel thing reminded me... shouldn't all the orcs in this zone have green skin by now??

Regarding green Orcs, I thought it took long term exposure to fel energy/warlock'ish type stuff for them to turn green. I don't think it's just a result of drinking demon blood.

I can't seem to get onto the PTR yet, but if the database is anything to go by then the red skin is still not in use, and there are no more new colours.

I'd also LOVE to see more Horse mounts available to the Horde. There's just not enough of them and it's not worth switching to Ally just for a mount, IMO.
