I'm not sure if this is the right place, but is there any fan resource to get the actual size of some of the creatures in World of Warcraft?
I was just wondering if it would even be realistic for some of the larger flying pets to perch on a hunter's arm, for example.

Having some solid weight/wingspan comparisons to real life birds would make a nice starting point for those kind of questions.
Or do I have to figure it out myself based on in-game comparisons and estimates? :o

Don't think anything is written for pets but I'd wager there could be something for races. If there was something that listed the height of in game humans you make make good guesses for pet sizes.

Blizzard has made several life size statues of orcs for Blizzcon and their headquarters. The most recent done in 12/2014 was of Grommash Hellscream who from the looks was 6.5-7.5 feet tall and obviously several hundred pounds of muscle. Possibly even 8 foot tall because the computer model was him next to a 6 foot tall man and Grommash was bent over slightly and still looked to have almost two feet on the human model.
So you'd have to figure the size of a beast in game based on that. I would think the birds post tame could easily sit on a keeper's arm. Real life eagles can get very large and small humans do handle them. I reckon their sizes would be the equivalent to real life beasts.
Tallstrider = Ostrich
Crabs = medium - large tortoise
Wasps = larger eagles

Personally I take the closest matching real life creatures and size the up a little depending.
However for the dinos they are sized down since clearly a full grown T-Rex was not that small. :lol:
The insects I imagine beetles being tortoise sized also. Butterflies also hawk /eagle sized.

If you want I can come up with some sizes for you?
