Oki i want to subscribe on
http://www.syfy.com/ but it wants me to select a provider. and the list where i can see all providers is just 1000 miles long.. I got NO idea which one to choose. I dont want a phony one and one with out ANY form for porn or erotic on it.
I can trick my computer to think its located in the us but when it comes to providers im totally lost
does this make any sense ?

I'm not in the US, and I'm not familiar with the site at all so I might be completely wrong on this, but I think it's asking you what your TV provider is maybe? It sounds like you'll have to have a paid account with a US provider in order to access it perhaps?

Direct TV and DishNetwork are also legit service providers. So long as you're only subscribing to specific channels, you shouldn't expose yourself to any x-rated content.

Time Warner is also a provider. I'll ask my dad if we have a streaming account and will let you know.

You can pretty much Google any city in the U.S. to find out its zip code and use that for Direct TV's registration process. For example, you can use 95828 for Sacramento California, 12203 for Albany New York, 96817 for Honolulu Hawaii, or 33186 for Miami Florida.
DishNetwork and Direct TV are satellite service providers in the U.S. that charge money for certain "packages", meaning they group a select amount of channels for different prices. 55 channels sounds like the normal number of channels for the base subscription and I doubt they'd allow you to only pay for a single channel (I'm not sure though, I've never tried it myself). I assure you though, the base channels that are included will contain relatively safe viewing content for all ages. There will be channels like Adult Swim that have shows such as South Park and The Boondocks which contains lots of swearing and violence. If those qualities bother you too, you can always block the channel through the provider's website. You'll basically have the channel but no one will be able to watch it unless you want them to.

Thanks a ton Niabi !

Do you know if Syfy is a part of their base offer? its kinda hard to figure it out i think
My husband just told me to use the 90210 zipcode.. and that worked

.. Now a matter of finding out where we get the cheapest and best deal..
Comcast is really pricey!! yikes!
Thanks soo much this really helped!

Yes, the SyFy channel is included in every package (I looked it up

).
As of right now, their Select Package includes SyFy and 144 additional channels for $20 a month with a 2 year agreement.

I'm not quite sure if I understand your question clearly but if you are asking for a list of additional providers that offer the SyFy channel, they can be found on this link:

I hope you get it sorted Tarn, I get SyFy through pay tv in Australia (Foxtel) so I won't be much help.
