Bears. They need it so bad. And hyenas.

#1 is bears, definitely. And hyenas even though they aren't an option. But I wouldn't mind seeing a new owl model either. The old vanilla one is well... old. Our current hawks and eagles look fine and we got the Kaliri in Draenor. But owls, man. They're awesome birds that need a serious make-over.

Gorillas could seriously use a new model too but I don't see where they'd fit in with the Legion expac.

As far as core hounds are concerned, we need that new high res model available as a tamable beast, and in green maybe? But I wouldn't mind some neat variations like the Kurken or Drakeadon.

I agree that bears and hyenas need a facelift more than any other hunter pet.

between all of the vrykul and night elf forests we will be getting, bears have a good chance this xpack.
I have not seen anything that gives me hope for hyenas but i guess if the whole place is a graveyard they could fit in somewhere. not holding my breath though

I think we may also have a chance to see improved demon hounds (or at least tamable fire ones.)

No options for Tallstriders or Hyenas? Those are my next two choices after Bears. Also not sure why Bat and Carrion Bird are on there, since we just got beautiful new Dire Bat / Bearded Vulture pets in WoD.

Bears, so much so. I've always been disappointed in the WoW bear models: they are so far away from what bears actually look like I could never keep one. I do wish for a new hyena as well; and I wish the old skeleton for them would come back (the one that was more hyena-like and not the lean-wolf skeleton they all got stuck with in Wrath).

Yeah I'd like a nice looking Hyena too. One that's not from Vanillia.

I'd rather have Wolverines, and Weasels and badgers, though.

I'd love an update on the BE Lynxes too, and some other colors than 'orange/bland tan" Give me a black one, and a green one.

Ugg. I would hope they don't waste time on tallstriders. No offense Tor, but those things are ass ugly and I can't remember the last time I actually saw a hunter use one. I'm not sure I've -ever- seen a hunter use one, and I've played since Vanilla.

Yes they are ugly. And that's the exact reason why they need an update! The poor tallstrider family has never gotten any attention; it hasn't been touched since vanilla and there's hardly any variety.

There is A LOT of cool things that they can do with the tallstrider family to make it more appealing. There are tons of tall, flightless birds on Earth that they can add - emu, ostrich, cassowary. There are also some prehistoric birds like the terror bird. Not to mention, this is a fantasy game so Blizz can always make up their own designs.

I mean how cool would something like this be for the Tallstrider family?

I know appearance is subjective and all. But.. meh. I've never had the urge to run around with an Ostritch. The tallstriders we 'do' have are supposed to be throw backs to the cassowary/Terror birds.

They're just 'meh' to me. I'd run around with a crab before one of those.

I might be weird. I never had any want of the vultures either.

Everything doesn't have to be 'pretty' for me to tame it. I have core hounds and goats and a slime, along side my pretty cats and wolves.

But the ugly flightless fugly chicken's just never appealed.

Heck I'd tame a chicken (El Pullo grande!) before I'd tame one of the tallstriders. lol

Well that's your opinion... Some of the flightless birds would still look cool wandering around a zone even if you don't want to tame them. But saying blizzard shouldn't waste their time is wrong; they can get creative with the family and I hope in the future all vanilla beasts will get some updated looks - tallstriders, beetles, bears, hyena.

Spiders. I really want to see updated tarantulas.

But I would also like them to take a look at the old cats and wolves. Not change them-they do not need to be changed because I , like a number of other people do like the old style-just a more high res version of them, as they are doing to the druid cat perhaps?

I don't think it's "wrong". If noone uses them, most people dislike them, and hardly anyone wants to see them, then it -is- a waste of time and effort. What's the point? Make things people do like, do want to see and use. Not stuff just to have stuff. I mean we have attack beavers that come with one of our abilitys but can't tame beavers. Same with frogs and pythons, but they're supposed to stop that, and maybe not give us a 'new' animal, to spend time and dollars developing a new tall strider appearance, for people to not use?

Are their poly count low and are they unattractive? Yeah. Does anyone use them or do they matter once you're out of the barrens? no. If they were in high demand and everyone used them and wanted a better look it'd be one thing. There's just a long list of things that would appeal to a wider audience than them, that need work before they do.

They design models for areas primarily and then for hunters as a secondary concern. If tallstriders fit the continent then it's better than them developing a new xxx that might be a popular pet but doesn't fit.

Their perceived popularity might also be a function of personal and random experience. I see more tallstriders than spiders or hippos or goats, just as examples. You may not.

Incubus came in a close second for me. Bears was obviously first. Gorillas would be third. If they mixed in Hawkstriders with terrorbirds, you'd see a more of them I suspect. The current model/skins suffer from "plucked turkey" syndrome.

Hyena's and Bear's for sure. I love the hyena's and they haven't really been touched since vanilla, not even new color's. And a new bear model that actually looks like a bear would be amazing.
