Surely I'm not the first to think of this, but I was bored and dinked around in Paint to create this. Forgive how rushed it is, and I had to hurry with the active pet section so I kinda phoned it in.

What if the Pet Stable UI was more like other Collections? Would you like this?

-Would allow all kinds of sorting based on family, location, level, maybe color. I use devilsaurs in this example.
-Would show what skins you haven't tamed and allow you to tame all the skins as a collection.
-It could have 50 favorites that would retain name information, but ones that aren't set as favorite or active would have their name reverted (since there are way more than 55 skins). t could show taming information, location etc.
-Allow taming multiple of same skin, but maybe limited like battle pets?
-Could even show the family specific abilities, info on pet specs etc.

While a cool idea, that sounds like way too much work for just one class to take advantage of. I wouldn't mind maybe sorting my stables by type, but that's about it.

I love it, mate! I'm sure it'd require a bit of work still, but almost all the basic components and art should already be in the game. Hopefully it wouldn't be very hard at all.

I would love better organization for the stable; at least by family.

I like it. It would makes things more organized and aesthetically appealing.

It's a good idea, though! Especially with the new pets we'll get in Legion, stable slots will be running very low again.

The same display might be adapted for various pet classes, too. It would be nice for warlocks, especially if they expanded the repertoire of looks you could summon.

I added a "My" to the title to help make it clear this was just an idea, not an announcement.

I got the idea in part from how Guild Wars 2 does their Ranger pet management. You basically tame a copy of skins, and can have 2 active land and 2 active aquatic pets on you, only one out at a time. Combine that theory with the WoW collection view... seems to make sense to me.

As a sane, rational person, I only would say "YES OMG YES SO YES PLS OH GOD YES" seven times only to this idea.

Thanks, I wasn't sure where ideas inspired by a new coming xpac would truly live.

Yeah. Maybe I'm being too fastidious . I tend to prefer ideas to be in standard forums unless they're specifically tied to something announced for Legion. Like, stuff to do with hunter halls or demon hunters. I just worry otherwise it will become an ideas forum for everything. But I'm probably worrying too much

In keeping with the original post for once, this is something I just posted on the official hunter forums:

They could give us pet skill spec tabs like we have wardrobe tabs. You could name the tab the pet name you want to show, then skin and skills. My sporebat would love to heal like a spirit beast, and my boar would love to be able to rez people. Give it a 10 minute cooldown. For balance make it so they have the same skill choices as a real pet, and you still have to pick tenacity, ferocity or cunning. You'd have to tame the beast to have the skin and skills available,
Example:
Pet tab 1, name Typetwo, skin blue sporebat, skillset spirit beast, spec ferocity.
Pet tab 2, name Nosboaratu, skin undead boar, skillset quilin, spec tenacity.
