Wow, SEPTEMBER at the latest? I thought we were getting two tiers for a faster expansion, not the same as every previous year...

Is there any official place that this has been mentioned yet, or is this just from files that MMO-Champ has snaffled prematurely from the servers? I haven't found any link or explanation for their reasoning of "on or before", which suggests to me that their means of grabbing it falls into the "not quite respectable" category.

They could well be right in their estimate, though. They find out some really good things ahead of time, but it also wouldn't be the first time they screwed up entirely.

I'm just very surprised it's that far off. On the bright side, it would give me a long time to earn the moose

I guess they don't learn ? That's a very long time to go without any new content. Entire year with the same content basically. After a not so good expansion, you think they at least have content to tie us over. I don't really count the upcoming small patch as content.

I see this behavior more often lately with a lot of game companies. It's like they put up a very far ahead date with the mention of "or before", kind of like a safety net. Take what Capcom did with Street Fighter V, they announced it as coming out on December 31th 2016 or before. When you viewed the pre-order page of the game on PSN that was what the release date was.

You can look at it this way, they're going in reverse of what most game companies did in the past. Instead of announcing a release date and then pushing it further and telling us "it's not as ready as we thought it would be" or something like that, they now think up of a far away date that they're 99% sure the game will be done before that and add "or before" to it. So when the game gets an actual closer release date then players are more happy about it. "Yay it's coming out sooner than I thought! "

Will Blizzard manage to release Legion before September 2016? Maybe, maybe not. We will have to wait and see.

Warlords' "at or before" date was December, and it came out a month early. Still, even August 16th seems so very far away...

On the bright side, more time to get that moose...?

Oh, I didn't mean Blizzard's explanation. I meant MMO-Champion's As far as I could see they didn't explain where their info came from, and how they arrived at that date.

I see now it came from the Legion pre-order page, which they mined early. Yeah, def. seems like it's a generous upper limit on the release date.

I want the moose mount, and since I'm not a raider I'm actually relieved if we have enough time to do that before Legion launches. But that's just me.
