So with a new melee spec (and transmog system) coming, I am all jittery with the new mog ideas. Already playing around in mogit for my Survival hunter, and wanted to see what you guys are coming up with for your toons! (General Survival/melee mog thread)

Since all the 2H weapons can be mogged over each other (provided the class can wield it), I'm having all kinds of ideas of melee hunter with 2H sword or staff. I got one down, my survivalist hunter, but I wanna do a melee version of a "dark ranger" based on Malevolence and Sylvanas. However I wanna see you mogs. You guys come up with great stuff, and I always get new ideas from it.

I don't have anything for your dark ranger theme, unfortunately, but if this is just a general thread for survival transmogs, here are two I made:
(Unfortunately these are really small on the Wowhead viewer)


"Archon" - based around the Archon Glaive, going for a wintry look with blue details

I can provide better screenshots once I've got the full look on my hunter (still need the boots.)



"Ranger" - traditional ranger with a spear

I prefer the Tallgrass Guerilla set (look-a-like available from darkmoon fair)


For melee, the House Wrynn Halberd fits pretty nicely.

Do we know for sure that we can xmog our polearms to say, 2h swords? That's kinda cool if so.

I knew I kept my Halberd of Smiting from old ZG for a reason! Though, I'm not sure of a set that would go with a Tauren male with it.

Yep, polearms can be mogged into swords, axes, whatever. Go nuts!

I couldn't get a great screenshot, but the armor is Ruthless Gladiator's Chain and the polearm is Hersir's Greatspear from ICC 10. All the details, except for maybe the ice on the ends and the color of the blades compared to the spikes on the armor, look pretty damn good and fit together nicely I think.

I thought about it and then I realized, playing 3 hunters would need 3 completely different styles.

The Blood Elf would look more like a soldier, I guess, that fights with a trained animal by his side.
The Troll would look very primal, a fierce fighter with a fierce raptor or jungle cat by his side, hunting together with the same fighting style.
With the Tauren, I was very undecided and couldn't find anything that loked "tribal", so I just browsed the items and came up with some red and gold.

Not perfect but the idea behind it is pretty obvious.

Here are my transmog ideas for melee, I make a good use of shirts for the blood elves to get the look :3, most items are drops from rares or heroic dungeons, except for the troll wich is shaman lookalike from ToT heroic, harder to get as most people in the raid want it

For my main it's probably going to be this look, the wep might be the artifact if it matches well enough though.
And Quiv,maybe you can use some of the pieces from the purple version of Catas PvP hunter set? Any of the more darker colored mail pieces should work for a dark ranger.

Do we know if Survival Hunters are getting their pre-MOP weapon skills back or are they only getting certain ones back (besides pole arms that is)?

Anyways, I think tonight I'm going to go through my armor sets and find matching melee weapons for the sets I have. I'm hoping one of my sets can match the pole arms and staves that drop in sunwell plateau, or that a set exists for them.
