Warning: two PTR accounts will block a beta invitation!

Has this been reported anywhere here? Just to ensure people know...

It has been confirmed that if you have two different PTR accounts attached to your WoW account, then it can cause you to not be flagged for Beta access even though are supposed to have been.

Apparently this is what happened to me. I had two PTR accounts due to some historic glitch.

If you happen to have two PTR accounts, and have flagged yourself as interested in WoW beta then I'd suggest you open a ticket and ask for one of them to be removed, just in case.

They are apparently working on a proper solution, but this will lower the risk of you missing out in the short term.

I'm not sure what this means exactly.

I have three different WoW accounts attached to the same battle.net, I don't see any way of changing the beta opt-in for the extra two, it treats all my accounts as a single battle.net.

It's only if you end up with two PTR accounts instead of the usual one. Not live accounts, Test Realm accounts. These are attached to one of your live accounts. You're only supposed to have one, but glitches in the system have resulted in some people having more .

When you open your account page, your accounts are listed like this:

I assume the glitch would display more then one labeled 'PTR'.

I kinda wish this happened to me. An invite getting lost due to a bug would be way better than not getting one at all. ;)

OH!
I don't have ANY PTR account listed... should I have one?

You never play-test the PTR, I take it? :)

If you want to, at any point, go to account management on the web and click on one of your active WoW accounts (like Thwip's picture, above). The page it takes you to for that account should offer an option to attach a PTR account to your account. From then on the PTR will appear as one of your options on log-in. It can't hurt to have one for times when you want to see something before it makes it live, or if the main game is down for maintenance and you want to try something :)

great, thanks for the info

EDIT**

it doesn't want to let me install the PTR. it says I am "not invited". So it's as if the PTR is only for the invite-only beta test.

Weird. Usually it's open to everyone. Unless they have blocked it recently because of the beta. or it's because are currently doing server maintenance.

Thank you for this, I had the two PTR glitch too and have been putting off cleaning up all the extra RAF accounts I had on there.

Thank you for sharing! I also had two PTRs attached to my account. I sent a a ticket in yesterday morning and today it's gone.

Well, I still get the "you are not invited" message when trying to install the PTR client.

That is odd. The PTR has been wiped recently, but it is accessible. The only thing I can think of is you've attached the PTR account to a different one to the one you're logged into your battle net client with. If it's not that then I'm stumped. Above the PLAY button, in the list of accounts, can you see "PTR: Warlords of Draenor"?

I have three accounts: WoW1, WoW2, and WoW3. That's it.
They're all under the same battle.net.

I can only log into one single battle.net account. I don't see any way to log onto a different one.

When I click on the installer for the PTR client, it says "updating Battle.net", then I get a sign-in screen that asks for my password, if I enter it, it loads the battle.net game launcher, AND a little box behind it that says "sorry, you have not been invited to play this game".

I never get any sort of install, or request for an install directory.

OK, never mind.

I FINALLY found out the problem and the PTR is now installing.

I'd been in a beta before, and I assumed it meant I was registered for the PTR, but apparently not.
I had to activate the PTR participation in my account, but most of the instructions I found were incomplete. I finally found it.
