Now that raid wide buff in Legion is being removed, what happens to our pets' spells?

 I wasn't aware raid wide buffs were being removed. I assume this is only stat buffs right? Or things like bloodlust going away?

well stats buffs are raid buffs, right? I heard your buffs like Druid's mark can only effect one person at a time, but that's about it.

Most raid buffs are being removed completely. A few buffs have been increased in power and made limited to one person at a time, like some of the Paladin and Druid buffs.

I wonder if that also means that all other utility (that is not a stat buff/debuff) are going to be removed
(Shell Shield, Spirt Mend, Battle Res, etc), or if they'll introduce new/spread out the existing to other families.

It would be a shame for them to lose any individualism after all this time.

If this meant that we could now customize our pets (as many have suggested over time), and you could pick from a "slow" "Battle Rez" "Heal" etc, well that would be better I guess.
But to have nothing at all for a touch of personality/uniqueness between family types would be kinda sad Imo :|

won't the 1 buff on 1 person cause annoyances though? I remember hearing about stuff like that in old wow raiding days where warlocks would get whispers to get the buff a lot of the time. some people don't like that idea if it is coming. Now I could be wrong on this cause I joined in cata and not really raided so I wouldn't know but you do pick things up along the way.

That's about accurate. As a disc priest, I used to be able to give power infusion to a caster dps - there were definitely requests for it. It was really only a problem if I needed it myself. Otherwise, I rather liked being able to do that.

It's already fun manually tossing heals on people sometimes via spirit beasts. I'd be happy if that's the direction we're going in with other pets too. :)

Well only one person would whisper as you can ONLY buff one person... so you have to choose which is your favourite hahah

not really the same as old one. You can only buff one person at a time.

So pets will be just an aesthetic choice with exotic with utility in legion...

Yeah I saw that on twitter too: https://twitter.com/WarcraftDevs/status ... 6450141184
Twitter wrote:Question: OnyxWolf: @WarcraftDevs So, whats going on with hunter pets post-raid buff removal, are they just a cosmetic choice now? what about exotics?

Answer: WarcraftDevs: @OnyxWolf_ Pets that you tame are primarily a cosmetic and story choice for you. Exotics tend to have an extra utility ability.
I think I'm okay with that. The consolidated buff number going up one when I had a pet out didn't exactly increase immersion for me, but maybe there is a reason someone will miss "Roar of Courage: The beast lets out a roar of courage, increasing the mastery of all party and raid members within 100 yards." in the spellbook. I assume things like shell shield will stay since its not a raid/stat buff but more a utility thing (albeit very limited in scope).

I was initially a little salty about the buff removal but then... honestly, I decided I like it. There's more than a few families I'd love to use, but don't, because their ability isn't particularly useful/wanted or easy to use. Direhorns spring immediately to mind... here's this GREAT PET OMFG DINOSAURS... and their ability? Freakin' worthless except in a very rare few soloing instances. Or maybe I'm BM but I wanna use my fel wolf 'cause it's cool... here's a pet that gives crit (worst for BM) and isn't exotic... I'm basically nerfing myself. Or I want to use a cat... on a toon that's less than Lv80. Exotics will keep some kind of 'utility trait' so that's a nice bonus for BM, but you won't be crippling yourself if you want to use serpents or something (MANA WYRRRRRMS OMFG)

The other bonus is... it means Bliz is likely to make tons of more stuff tamable in the long run because they aren't trying to shoehorn 'x' family into 'x' buffs so there aren't too many of whatever. I mean, there's already too many versatility-giving pets this go around as it is.

I will miss Blessing of Kongs a little. I even named a gorilla SymbolfKongs.

I think they still do... in that you are basically free to use whatever pet you want, now, without feeling -obliged- to have pets you may not even like just for the sake of utility. So you could argue there's MORE flavor because now people will just be using the pets that appeal to them, so there'll be more variety. That the pet says something about the player/character instead of 'I need crit, so I have a wolf'.

They should have let pets use any buff. I like the bonus sound and visual effects from buffs activating... I'll miss the astral sparkling of my spirit beast and screeching swipe of my Silithid Colossus.
