Has anyone on alpha tamed a mech pet yet? I wasn't sure if that had been implemented yet or not. If so, has anyone tried it? And does anyone know how the rest of us non-gnomes are suppose to learn how to tame mechs? Is it something Engineers make or is it a drop we have to hunt for?

Anyone? Anybody?

But yeah basically if you're not a Gnome or Goblin you will need to use an item made by Engineers to learn how to tame mechanical pets.

Good thing I'm an engineer then, XD I guess I better start saving up money to get ready for mats.

Found Sentient Mechanstrider in Gnomergan... now to tame. He is in the area below the clean zone, Dormitory I think it is called, you need the prismatic card to enter (Which I am pretty sure you need to be Engineer too). Think he scales to lvl. I am lvl 100 and so is he.

Did the normal tame and don't work... some other mechanics involved I am sure

Wish I had more time, I have to get to work, Another find and another to let someone else find out mechanics of how to tame

Congrats on getting that far!! In case anyone else is going to try it, no, you don't need to be an engineer to get the cards. They weren't that mean

All I'll say is that you may not get what you need on your first run. Fortunately it's only a dungeon and can be reset.

Yea, about 30 minutes after I posted that I figured it out. Needed sleep so waited till this morning to post Will put specifics up here if needed, but don't want to spoil stuff too soon for those still trying. Or you can read about it on my FB Page W0W Alpha Beta Adventures.

So... is it still possible to get the first punch card on live to lead up to the Prismatic? Because I have a goblin hunter who's an engineer (700) and I have gotten nada in over an hour of spamming Gnomer. ><;

For me it's starting at Punch Card 2. On Alpha, that is. Cleaning those grimy objects I didn't find it too hard to get one. Not like really fast, but not too bad either.

Edit: WoWhead does not list punch cards from the box on live. I'm going to save my objects for 7.0. Nada out of the first 4, so I'm gonna play it safe.

Yep, the quest was indeed removed in Cata. That's my thought exactly. I have 60 objects stockpiled. LOL. Ready!

I can confirm many runs trying to get the item needed to tame the Mechanostrider, that the White card is not in the game anymore and the Yellow one does not drop off any mobs, have to play the slot machine and just wait for it to pop, after that it's cake to get the rest of them in order to finally end up with the prismatic.

I have run it numerous times on all 3 Alpha servers to get the Pet Tamed and it's always the same. Also, on one of the toons, I got all the way to the Red Punch card then got that toon stuck for almost 2 days, the 3rd day he still had the Red Punch Card in his inventory... Something I might test out, go ahead and get the Prismatic one on live and see if it is still there a week later or so Then it will be a mad rush launch day to get the First Tame

Out of curiosity, how would one know if they did get the First Tame?
