Equip your crab pet with a knife!

There's a cool device in Legion that allows you to outfit your crab pet (hunter pet) with a wicked knife.
I haven't tried minipets yet. (It doesn't work for minipets). For example, this is a Deepwater Spikeback that I just tamed and then equipped with the knife:
It works with old model crabs too. Because of the way they hold their claws the knife has to be held sideways:
The device is called a
Crab Shank, and is dropped by a nasty crab called
Pinchshank, located in Suramar City, on the east side of the harbour. The Wowhead page for the crab isn't active just yet, so the link won't work.
It's a permanent device, with a 5 min CD. The appearance buff on the pet lasts an hour, so effectively as much as you like. So awesome
I tested on one crab battle pet so far: the Shore Crawler, but it didn't work. I would half expect them to enable this for minipets though, so I'll keep an eye on it.

Haha, this is amazing.
I like that they're also experimenting with hunter pet item effects. Maybe Sha-touched pets or pet-resizing items aren't that far off.

I just tested on a battle pet and it said invalid target. It seems like they would intend for it to work on battle pets too, but maybe not
Still, the hunter pet buff is what I care most about. It looks so wicked
I love that video, btw

a) Does it work with Ghostcrawler the spirit beast?
b) Besides Goblin, which race looks awesome with a pet crab?

No, Pinchshank isn't tameable right now. But currently her colour isn't anything unique anyway, and since the knife isn't part of the model it wouldn't stay on her permanently after taming.

Although it would take up a ton of bag space it would be really really cool for Blizzard to make a toy or trinket for each appearance buff pet. So you can do:
Sha-infest either a crane, tiger or croc.
Oil coat a wolf or eagle.
Give your other salty crab a bottle of hooch.
Set your tallstrider on fire or your boar.
Make your bear bottom become egg infested.
So so many possibilities.
But if they can do this why not for all the CURRENT visual beasts create a toy or trinket? I never got the sha-infested cat /crocodile so it would be awesome to have an item like this

No, I just tested it with Ghostcrawler and it currently doesn't work. They might have to add a special check for that one, since he's not classed as a crab and he has a slightly different model. Shouldn't be hard though.

I mean, if Ghostcrawler gets a dagger of stars or translucent dagger, would be cooler!
