If the timer is the same as it's been in the past, looks like we're probably expecting the Legion pre-patch mid-to-late July. I'm going to call July 19th. *Maybe* later, but I suspect they're going to give us about a month to get used to things before dropping the biggie on us.

I'm tempted to hit up the PTR and see if I can dig anything up from there.

EDITED TITLE: I misread the announcement about the event; I thought they said the event was hitting the PTR for a day and then coming down (which would've meant they were making it official soon). It's a server on the *Beta*. That said, we *should* definitely be seeing it hit the PTR before it hits live, unless they're skipping it for some reason.

The PTR should be starting within the next few weeks - probably sometime in late June. They'll have a month of PTR, which will be anything that is not on Broken Isles. Then ~late July, we'll have the Pre-Patch launch.

I need to update my PTR to get a lookie myself XD

With them testing the 'event' on a PTR server (which is a part I'm not planning to check out; I like surprises too much), albeit only for a short while, I admit, I was expecting it should be showing up on the PTR soon after they have perfected the aforementioned 'event' (although with the setbacks there, it may slow it down; depends on how bad they are/were).

And that it even led to a conversation that motivated said person to maybe revisit Petopia again, just without the lurking.

In seriousness, I do hope non-beta testers get something new soon... This content drought is in my mind worse than the ones before simply because of how little there is to do in WoD. Even just the prepatch without the event would be nice to try out the class changes.

As I said, the PTR should be up in a few weeks. In past xpacs, the Pre-Expansion Patch is about a month before Legion, so late July. But before that, they start up the PTR about a month prior to that, so late June

Yep. I'm still holding my money on the 19th on official release of the pre-patch. They *might* go all the way to the 26th (and make it exactly 4 weeks) but I wonder if they might want to give a little extra window; I *could* be wrong, though.

I could be mistaken but I do vaguely recall something along the lines of them wanting to give us a longer prepatch than usual due to the sheer amount of things happening; the Broken Shore supposedly is doable before Legion hits live too, there's the invasion that's currently being tested but there was another event within main cities on the beta too (Not sure if they happen together or are separate) and then there's early access to Demon Hunters too. Which given that they went out of their way to add an Archimonde class trinket for as well I'm thinking (perhaps it's just too wishful, we'll see) Demon Hunters will be out at least a few weeks before release...

I've read some speculation on mmo-champion that, since the pre-expansion event is being tested on the beta right now, they might actually just skip the PTR phase altogether. Sure, it'd be a first, but Legion's alpha / beta schedule has been a bit of a "first" on several fronts anyway, so it could happen.

The PTR notes were listed about 5 hours ago. Wowhead has them in their blue tracker, and I just received a small PTR update. The servers are offline at the moment in EU, but it looks like they may be on the way.

..... or it may be too hopeful. I don't know yet.

Good, hopefully character copy will work so I can test the wardrobe system.

Remember: the PTR doesn't allow access to the new zones, but it *does* allow access to new 'old world' stuff. Which may include interesting finds.

Warning to people: at the moment, a lot of folks are having trouble with character creation and copying on the PTR at the moment.

I'm one of them, unfortunately. Will be trying again later today (I don't have anything but laundry to do); I'm hoping it won't be too long before they fix things. They have a lot of people already on, though, so it may be packed. It may just be 'server overload'.

I have at least one thing I badly want to test in a newbie section, too; darn it!

I need to hop on just to check out transmog, what new toys I had that made it in and the new graphics options. Also might fly around and see what things I can see in the old world, but I'm definitely saving the event for live.

Oooh :0 I might try to getting in/on later! I want to inspect some things..

My first activity is going to be listing all the new pets (as in, the battle pets) the way I have in the past, as well as probably filling out the 'transmog' thread a little.

So yeah, I can't copy a charachter or make a new one either. Lol

I can't even make it onto the server xD But I guess if copies aren't working there's no point anyways.

Got in but I have a hard time believing that every single random mass of letters I type in is taken. No matter what I try to name my premade, it's taken. Gahhh

Same here, getting character error/name taken. Looking forward to trying a gnome since I haven't gotten a beta invite.

Creating a new character works for me now, copy is still failing.
