For those who don't like the new way the character panel display stats, and are annoyed that some interface options where removed from the menu (but are still accessible through slash commands), here's two addons that can make your life easier.

DejaCharacterStats

AdvancedInterfaceOptions

Also if some of you want to try the new dynamic camera function but don't feel like messing around with the slash commands, there's an addon that helps with that too.

DynamicCam

Is there any reason that stuff like this has been changed/removed? I thought things were fine before, and I don't recall hearing many other people complaining, either.

Someone from Blizzard said... somewhere, I forget where but I can see if I can find it if citations are needed lol... that a lot of the interface pruning happens so that new players don't get overwhelmed with the choices. I feel like that's fine but a lot MORE people get confused when options they know exist suddenly stop being easily visible, or upset if something is seemingly removed (like the option to remove bloom/glow, which is still there but hidden). If nothing else, there should be an advanced tab of the interface options menu specifically for people who know that it's possible but aren't comfortable editing their config files or trusting random /script or /run commands that other people give them (especially given the recent outbreak in malicious script scamming). There's a huge swath of the playerbase that's more experienced than a brand new player but still isn't what people on the UI/Macro forums would call advanced when it comes to messing with the default UI/game experience.

Okay, I know I've been playing for many years, but I don't think WoW or its interface have been what anyone would call "complicated" for a long time now. I mean, there are some options in the UI whose purpose I don't fully know, but I probably don't need them either. Is it necessary to know what every little option does? I dunno, maybe, but I feel there comes a point that you're just hacking at stuff just to hack at it. Maybe I'm just bitter today because I'm not feeling well. :( I'm sorry!

Agreed 100%. I understand trying to make it more newbie friendly... but how hard is it to add the removed options to an advanced tab for those of us who have played for years with certain interface options? It just seems like they're catering so much to new players that it's becoming a bit unfair to those of us who have been here since the start or soon after.

Yeah no kidding. I bought the WoW gaming mouse, and even that was removed from the Interface panel!!! I mean, it's their own freaking mouse! Why wouldn't they want their buyers to use it?! It really should have went into an Advance tab.

So I downloaded two of these addons, and the character stats one seems to work great.

But advanced interface options.. I got it so that floating combat text would once again show the combo point gains on screen for my druid and rogue but I can't get it to work? I ticked everything and the only thing that DID work was combat state. It'd show "entering combat" and "exiting combat" like before the patch, but every other option just doesn't seem to do anything at all.

I was just so used to that big text telling me my combo points that I often forget to look now and keep wasting points or not using them on time...
