Apparently so according to hotfix notes.
Pets
Hunter, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, and Death Knight pets have been trained to move around more smoothly and better adjust to player pathing when the player is moving.

I have yet to log in to test it but I hope it's better.

As of last night, I would say no, but there were other sorts of lag issues at the time with the DDoS attacks and all. Thanks for the heads up.

Will keep an eye out.

As of right now ......................... doesn't appear so. I just logged off WoW and my pets had to play catch up way too much for it to be fixed. Nothing else had lag.

I've noticed no change at all. It's possible it needs a realm restart to take effect.

They start moving with you instead of stand there for a bit then running to you, but they still to that thing where if you stop they keep moving then stop, wait a bit, then go to your side.

In the open world, my pets are responding much MUCH better than they were before. They don't seem to lag/fall behind/run off in random directions as much. But I'm not sure if that's also because the servers seem a lot more stable today then they have for awhile (at least for me).
But in dungeons, they're still just as bad. My pets didn't seem to lag behind as badly as before, but still bad. I definitely submitted a bug report that it seemed the hotfix didn't fix pets issues in dungeons/raids.

Actually edit my post, not all open world is better for me. I've also noticed some other weird issues, possibly to do with cross-realm zones. So I'm wondering if that's causing a problem too? Who knows but.. oi I got my hopes way too high on that hotfix

For me they stand there when I move and then run up as if they were caught up in a daisy smelling moment. Then they also seem to over run me .................... slam on the breaks, fun back, then fidget around then settle. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Edit: And it didn't matter where I was in Azeroth. Open world, ,major cities, PuG's, raids.

Well that was a let down. I didn't expect them to fix the "there's 20 mobs on my ass, you killed one so I'll pull the 19 others back to you" problem pets have. But I was hoping they where more responsive. It's not back 100% but it's still better than what it was before the fix. Then again the lag from the DDoS attacks lately doesn't help much.

I just leave my pet on Defensive now so it hits whatever hits it and macro /petattack into all my shots/whatnot. Seems to help

That's such a kluge though. Eh well, we'll see. I was on earlier today and noticed that my pet didn't seem to be QUITE as erratic as before, in that it didn't end up on the wrong side of me/behind me/halfway through my midsection like I was having happen before. But they do still tend to run ahead, stop, then run back to you and fidget back into place like they have been. I wonder why they're suddenly so broken, what they did to the AI to mess them up in the first place.

Actually, the pets bugging out on the ToT elevator has been there since Cata, if it makes you feel any better. I always desummon and then resummon once I'm on the jellyfish.

The jellyfishes confuse our poor pets, you have to jump on it some to show them it's OK!

I don't feel better cause he did that through the whole dungeon.
Not just that spot. Like he didn't want to fight yesterday or something.
I should have taken SS's of my croc doing the same nonsense in End Time.

That just proves that in some ways our pets are smarter than we are. "What? Get on top of a giant jellyfish? No way boss!"
