How to get the Demon Skin

If you have the swapper and want to get the Demon skin that looks like the old Warlock metamorphosis then you need to do the following (before they hot fix it).

1. Go to Orgrimmar
2. Go out side to the cave near the docks.
3. Make sure you have your pet out and go inside the cave.
4. Kill the mobs in there by standing very close to them. You will get a poison buff.
5. After a couple kills your pet will turn into the Demon.
6. Use Essence Swapper. Win.

but i used the undead in wetlands.

I literally just saw this! Made mine a demon. Its cool but I don't know how long I can personally tolerate it.

Ah this is so cool! I wonder if there's any other pet transformation things out there in the world that we could play with. I thought of the Ihgaluk Crag dailies on the Isle of Thunder, since your character is turned into one of the saurok and your pet is a cockroach or a slime, but I'm not sure if that would work.

I feel like there's a bunch of quests or areas that had mechanics like this but now I'm blanking on them.

Its a little tricky. Casting swapper breaks the transformation, and your pet out of the illusion. So you have to run into the crag, start the Swapper cast before you transform. You'll then transform and whatever illusion your pet got will be transferred. If your pet switches to something you don't like, simply move to stop the Swapper cast and try again.



I imagine this will be fixed (the roach is very small, pvp implications I bet). I just hope they add a way to revert Hati back to original look.

Now we are thinking with polymorph (or Hex)

I wonder if it can be made to work with worgen bite. I can make the mobs attack my pet, but it's too high level and would evade all attacks, including the ones stacking the debuff needed for transformation.
Would be sorta cool to sort of have Garwal back

This is really unfortunate because that would be cool. I tried and like you said it was just miss miss miss miss miss miss. I even had 6 on my pet at one point, tried with mobs at full health and down to 10% via Soft Foam Sword. Still miss miss miss miss.

is there any other ones we can think of? i tried the worgen one took rez sick and gear off...nothing.

Oh my god it worked! This is too much fun. I'm sure a nerf will be coming but...I'm tempted to turn Hati into the cockroach so I won't have to see him that much.

Oh how I wish there was a quest or mob that transformed your pet into some sort of dragonkin... Or a skyscreamer. Sadly a lot of these are fun but not something I'd want around with me forever xD

No, the cockroach idea I'd had for Ihgaluk. Quiv confirmed it for me.

Where do you go to find the cockroach?

The Ihgaluk transformations may only work for older hunters—I'm pretty sure you still have to quest through isle of thunder and get lucky with what daily day it is to get the quest to enable it. That said, if it's the roach you're after, shamans have a hex variant that's a cockroach now. It's... 50g? from a rare spawn vendor in (northrend) Dalaran's underbelly, but it's also not BoP so if you're desperate and you can't find anybody with it, you might be able to pick one up off the AH.

Old Karazan, if your pet got a certain debuff, they would turn into a skeleton (the skeletal waiters; it was something like 'brittle bones'). So you could do that.

Do the Hallowe'en wands still work on pets? Or did they fix that?

Of note, the Naga in Eye of Azshara, starting with the Arcanists after the first boss, cast a polymorph: fish that turns you into a green carp. It hit my friend's pet at 107. We haven't had luck with my hunter (110) though, it just won't target my pet.

The carp is partially in the ground, though. Word of warning there.

Has anyone tried swapping to the oil-stained wolves yet?

Trying to think of other special pets that could be fun! Also maybe Hati is safe regarding buff removals, which could grant those hunters a permanent version of their pet.

Just spitballing! I don't have the options myself.

Also, if anyone needs pets polymorphed, my mage has everything. Bunnies, polar bear cubs - the works!
