So, I decided to pop onto Petopia to find the levelranges for a certain skin of Boar, and guess what I see. Yup, a gold-ad. An isolated incident, nothing to worry about, right? So I go onto Advanced Pet Search. Another ad. I start to get a bit worried, but no problems, right? So I click search. Another ad.

You might want to look into this, don't want anyone to visit that site, amirite?

I remember this matter rising in Mania's Arcania a while back, let me see if I can find what Mania said about it back then. *searchsearch*

Meanwhile, I'll just point out that Mania would have to spend all her time blocking the unwanted sites if she wanted to keep Petopia clear of them. In the end it would be no use, as there's always a huge mass of new gold selling ads being introduced.

Yeah, I definately know that, but it was the same site on all three ads, in other words, everywhere I went I saw the same ad.

I was going to say "what ads?" and then I remembered I surf with AdBlock.

How do these ads work? Is it a service you subscribe to that then picks the ads for ya?

Sorry for the delayed response -- I haven't been around the forums much this .. err .. month.

The incidence of gold-selling ads had improved, so I was only checking for them every week or so. Then they seemed to spike again. I'm trying to keep an eye on it, but if you see something that's slipped past me the best thing is to e-mail me about it. I can ignore the forums if I have to, but I have a hard time ignoring my e-mail.
