Advice on taming Banny

So I have killed Banny three times now trying to tame him and was just wondering if anyone has tamed him or has advice on it since Legion has come out?

Looking around online some say use the "Red Rider Air Rifle" others "Fruit Basket"

Edit:
Tried naked with a lowbie white gun, tried "Concussive Shot" both ended with a dead Banny and a major /headdesk

Edit 2:
Finally got Banny thx to you guys and the macro. My goblin has been up that tree just chilling for a long time. Logged in, flew up, macro, tamed. :headbang:

Other than a capped orced hunter being uber salty it was a good day. Thanks again!

Could always buy a lowbie weapon from a vendor to hit him with too. :)

There was a Legion Beta/PTR thread were someone posted a greatmacro for aggroing Ban that didn't kill him. I tested it on beta as a 110 and it worked (screenshots in thread). I'll try to find the macro.

Edit: Here it is (credit Xota in below linked thread)

/focus target
/cleartarget
/cast [@focus] Counter Shot
/targetlasttarget

You could also use the following macro:

/cast Concussive Shot
/stopcasting
/stopcasting

This will let you tag Ban'thalos to get aggro with Concussive Shot which does no damage and then will immediately cancel any auto shot to avoid accidentally killing him.

I just tested it and it works perfectly. To convince yourself beforehand, try using it on a critter somewhere :)

Best of luck!

There is always trying the multi-rez sickness method as well if you are hitting him for to much. (just leave your gear in the bank...lol)

Since Legion, toy vendors in SW & Org carry a foam gun toy. Perfect for such purposes. No more need to drop to your death and suffer sickness. Yay!!

I've tried the foam sword unfortunately. It has a cast time and can't be used while falling, and since Ban is so high up, you have to tag in the air. Its a shame.

You may have to wait and get some Savage Snowballs

The reason why this won't kill Ban, even if you get hit by some latency, is because autoshot only attacks your main target. But you can cast spells on your focus target (and not run the risk of /stopcasting not registering in time), including the non-damaging counter shot and concussive shot. Concussive shot will slow the speed Ban flies towards you, and might increase the chance she'll reset. /targetlasttarget makes sure Ban is targetted when you cast tame.

Thx so much everyone I look forward to trying these out next time Banny is up. My poor goblin has been striking out on finding any of the other SB (minus the moose and Gara) so it has been sad to pwn the poor guy trying to tame him.

I personally used the macro:

/startattack
/cast counter shot
/stopattack

and as I was falling, just Disengaged, and waited for the pet to come close, then tamed.
