I got the Essence Swapper today, and was happy to turn my Hati into something more palatable and to my taste.

But I find that once transformed, Hati is actually larger than the wild beast that he's being transformed into.

I tried him with a Mana Wyrm and he was at least twice the size of the wild wyrm I had just tamed.

now I'm trying him on one of the mana kitties in Suramar, and again, he's humongous... much larger than the size of the wild cat pre-tame.

is this a bug of some sort?

I presume it's something they overlooked. The size ratio can vary wildly depending on the NPC.

It seems to do that with every pet now. I assume it is kind of officially added to work that way now since it used to bug randomly like that but it does that every time now. So I guess the secret is out now to everyone xD. And don't abuse the big pets, if we are given this perk don't troll around with the big pets which I know some will but don't make blizzard reverse what seems to be them okaying it now since it triggers every single time now instead of randomly.

the overly-large Hati was getting annoying, so I tried another of my pets.. and THIS one seemed normal sized!

It's my toaster-puppy... the armoured wolves from Tanaan that have those three fiery slots on the back.

After the change Hati was just a tiny bit larger than Strüdel.

In my case, I don't WANT my Hati to be humongous.
I want a regular-sized pet. I hate giganto-beasts that get in the way when you try to loot.

He doesn't do it with mechanical wolves

By the way, I re-zapped my teroclaw chick and he's now the exact same size as my hunter pet tamed version.
So it seems Alcyone now has a brother the same size as her.
