(Sry if this is the wrong place, feel free to move it to the right place.)So, i was runing around on a low lvl alt today, while talking to a friend, and i dc. Went to log back in and...My password had been changed

I changed it again, sence none of my other info had been changed, then spent an hour lvling with my friend, thinking my account was safe with a new password...But i was wrong, my account was hacked again, and i was kicked off...Now im talking to my friend in vent and he's telling me my toons keep loging in...I've sent in an e-mail, and had an ingame ticket in (i had gotten a e-mail about a password changed before i DCed the 2nd time, so i sent in a ticket after finding out my battle.net e-mail address and password was changed). Is there anything else i can do? Or do i just play the waiting game and hope all my toons and guild are fine when i get my account back?

Nope. Damn Im getting sick and tired of these damn hackers jacking accounts. Also I dont care what people say about "You have to be an idiot to get hacked." These bastards are getting way twisted with their meathods, so I have major sympithy for you. good thing was you caught it early so the GMs can react and take care of it

The first thing you should do is run a virus check. There's probably a keylogger in your computer and you should get rid of it as soon as possible.
*hugs* So sorry to hear that you got hacked. :( Best wishes, hopefully you'll get everything back soon!

The first thing i did was run a scan. But nothing was found.

First, run a quick scan of your computer. If it's a keylogger, then you want it off ASAP as he could likely get into other stuff. Now you already have a ingame ticket, but you can also give Blizzard a call to see if you can get through. You can also perhaps a friend or two submit an ingame ticket as well.
Until then, it's a waiting game. =( Likely a gold seller is in there. I don't think your toons will be deleted, but it's possible they'll be naked when you get them back. Good news is, Blizzard is actually pretty good about restoring items or toons. =3

I would call, but its 1:09 am atm, so i doubt they're there...And im asking my friend to summit an in-game ticket, thanks, we hadnt thought of that. And really, i wont be surprissed if the hacker has sence closed the ticket

And my friend now tells me they're trading something to a lvl 1 alt that has a hackers/goldsellers name. (just a random combination of letters) And even though i have school in the morning, i refuse to go to bed untill i get my stuff back...But my friend told me it might take a while
UPDATE: Well, my friend just told my my pally logged off, checked her WoWArmoy page, she has half her healing gear and half her tanking gear on...Seems they sold everything else.

UPDATE2: Now Most of my toons have been visited by the hacker

All the sellable stuff is gone. my friends keep telling my to try adn get some sleep sence its 2 and i have school in 6 and a half hours, but i doubt i could sleep now

I'd suggest you get some sleep hun. ^^ There's nothing that can be done for the time being and it'll probably be days before you get your stuff back - everything the hackers may do to your toons can be reversed by a GM afterwards so the best you can do is take care of your own health.

Mmm, sounds like what happened to my boyfriend about a week ago. Non of his toons were deleted, but everything that was sellable was gone. Thankfully he got everything (Except his Frost Badges) restored within 48 after getting in contact with a GM. However, in that case the hacker did not change his password or Battlenet name, but I suggest your friends keep their tickets open. Give a call to Blizzard a bit later today, hun. You'll get it all back.
Don't forget to look into an Auth! Cheap and easy to use.

You can not scan an infected computer with itself!
As long as the malware is running, no scanner will show anything!
Get a boot CD with a good scanner (anything from Symantec is crap).
Adobe Reader and Flashplayer are the most common tools to distribute malware - Adobe is a far higher risk than Microsoft.

I recommend using something like Knoppix to scan the system. It's a Linux system that you boot from a DVD. It comes with basic antivirus systems, but it's recommended to install another AV software.

Call in the morning or as soon as you can. And order the authenticator.
I got everything back in about 3 days when I got hacked about 2 weeks ago.

I just saw this:
Adobe acknowledges critical security flaw in software
* Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2 and earlier 10.0.x versions for Win, Mac, Linux and Solaris
* Adobe Flash Player 9.0.262 and earlier 9.0.x versions for Win, Mac, Linux and Solaris
* Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.3.2 and earlier 9.x versions for Win, Mac and UNIX
* Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Release Candidate does not appear to be vulnerable
* Adobe Reader and Acrobat 8.x are confirmed not vulnerable

Oh hun, sorry to hear about the hacking. :_:
Check your email and make sure that no other address is connected as "dominant" that you did not set. Thought it's not a common way to hack accounts it is done (pulls out her card for the "My WoW Account was Hacked Club") where they hack an email account and check to see if it gets allot of WoW spam, if so they try to hack the battle.net account by old school hacking the password with a password generator program, once they have that off they go. My only tips are to not give up, get an authenticator, and when you get your account back attach it to a new email setup only for the purpose of having your battle.net account attached to it (so much harder to hack then because it's nowhere to be found ^_^). Don't lose heart, we're all here for you! Good luck.

That must be one of the worst ways to get hacked, midway through playing while you're actually doing stuff/progressing in the game and the fact that you were getting, what technically was, live coverage of it happened must of been awful. I hate the experience of being hacked, and I hope everyone only has to go through it only once. Really can shake your confidence in the game on some occassions.
I noticed someone a few posts above said order an authenticator. Definately get one. Heck, order one now! I ordered and recieved mine while my account was in the hands of the other guy and just linked it to my account when I got it back.

Yeah, I was hacked "live" too.. got DCed three times, came back 4th and was prompted for the authenticator! yikes!
So, your steps are:
1) Call Blizz as soon as possible
2) upgrade or get new anti-virus, and run it (from a separate drive or CD if you can)
3) install add-blocks and No-Script in your browsers
4) order authenticator
and then wait for Blizz to clean it up.

Sorry to hear of this. I'm sure all your stuff will be restored.
My question is are the hackers just looking to gold sell in game and then get your credit card information etc???

Thanks guys, I'll go ask my dad to buy me an authenticator as soon as i post this. And heres an update: I got home from school today, and decided to check my toons from The Underbog on WoWArmory, sence they wernt messed with yet when i was finaly able to get to sleep last night, and...They're gone. The hacker must of deleted them...meaning, King Krush, Loque'Nahak, Aotona, and The Kurken are gone...The 4 pets that i love, and that i put the most time into, gone

...I know my toons will probably be restored, but will my hunters pets be as well?

Some GMs restore pets. I they're not restored when you get your account back, just keep sending in tickets about it. Eventually you'll get a kind GM.
