OK so I wanted to check out the new Alcaz Island and see if these new spider mechs appealed to me. I flew out, was dismounted, but when I got there, it was empty. Straight up ghost town. What am I missing? Anyone care to let a confizzled hunter in on your secrets?

Talk to the bronze dragonflight NPC at the end of the bridge outside theramore, around 55, 49, to go back in time to when Theramore wasn't destroyed. For some reason you have to do this to see the new alcaz... when it should be the other way around.

Also one thing of note if you're going in as a Hunter: You can track the invisible proximity mines with Track Mechanicals, making them visible on your minimap. If you scroll all the way in, you should be able to make your way around the island without getting blown into pieces every few feet.

Also for the mines, I just use a goblin glider to glide directly to where weevil is. It'll still shoot you with the anti-air rifle when you enter the zone, which causes you to glide straight down rather than at an angle, but if you disengage once it'll fix it & you'll start moving forward again.

One other thing is if you like hydras, they put the orange hydra back in the game (was previously removed with Cataclysm) and it shares a spawn point with all the black hydras around Alcaz. I had to kill all the black ones, then when the respawns started 3 of them were orange.

And be prepared to die A LOT. The mobs have shit tons of health, powerful attacks, and many of them throw a 10-stack-instagib poison like the frogs on TI. The worst part is that while you don't get hit all that often, your pet blows up constantly.
