I love that
Rescued Turkeys spawn in the hunter class hall during Pilgrim's Bounty, and that Wowhead already has a screenshot of them by Kurasu

Do these turkeys sense their destiny like the plump turkey and commit turkicide?

They're the new style of critter that you can pet, and they're everywhere, inside and out.

I was so thrown off by the rescued turkeys suddenly appearing, but I'm also super amused! XD
Though, I noticed one turkey was not only rescued, but apparently was adopted by one of the Great Eagles.

You all saw the distressed one too, right?
Poor thing.

I loved it. Very cute
But I'm still unsure why it makes you laugh like crazy after petting these new critters. Is there something I'm not getting here? It just seems like a really odd response and maybe I'm missing something.

I just thought it was because petting animals makes you happy, and that's how they showed that in-game.. Your character laughs because it's happy, or joyous? I really don't know hah.

It's the same response you get from petting a cat, dog, fawn, or other interactive critter elsewhere in the Broken Isles. I imagine it's just the same reaction reused.

(Even if the response is a little weird.)

It's supposed be like 'joy' or happy, since its pretty common for a lot of people (at least where I'm from and where Blizz is actually HQ) that when people pet animals, they act silly or happy (or use baby-talk) to animals after petting them. Like not as crazy as WoW portrays it, but yanno just "omg animal yay! <3" kind of feeling? I think that's what its supposed to be like anyways.
And I think probably because our characters don't actually smile unless there's a real animation tied to it (like /laugh). The characters faces don't actually show emotion on its own without another animation tied to it (/yes or /no). And they probably picked /laugh because for all races it seems to express joy or amusement. There are differences in animation (of course) for different races, but some races also seem to having 'missing' emotes. As an example, I can't remember which one it was, but my friends and I were using either /charge or /cheer (something like that), the NE, Draenei, and Human in our group all had animation/sounds to the emote, but our Worgen Female companion had no animation/sound, only a line of text.
So making it just be /laugh where they knew it would always be 'amused' and every race/gender combo would have an animation and sound attached was probably just easier (even if it comes off a bit crazy lol)

Thanks I guess so. It just seems (at least on the Draenei) that you pat them then laugh hysterically, like patting an animal is the funniest thing on earth. It just seemed very strange

I wonder if it's meant to be along the lines of like when a little kid pets an animal, especially a really cute one, for the first time. Invoking that. Little kids petting a animal more often then not get very excited and happy by it. And they laugh. Still odd but my character's reaction to petting something in game does make me laugh. Well played Blizzard, well played.

We're not feeding turkeys to the turkeys.
I noticed a couple more non-interactive turkeys hanging out on the targets at the front of the target. Brave, brave souls. They escaped death once and have returned to laugh in its face!

I admit: I'm a bit of a screencap wh-...ound when I notice that something hasn't yet been captured in 'film'.
