Cultural Studies Survey

No, don't you run away on me! I just need to ask a few possibly personal questions. Just about everyone I try to get to do this runs off.
(If you feel subconscious you can PM me, I'll keep it confidential.)
Please be honest.
Simple choice questions:
1. What is your gender?
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?

- male
- no
- wondered why someone would ask this out of the blue
- me and my friends call ourselves "sissy" all the time, even when one fails to open a can or something
- like I said: no
- if it was from a friend, I'd laugh, if not, I'd say some words my mom forbid
Good enough?

1) Male.
2) Not often. But the idea has struck me.
~~~
1) Mild uncomfortable feelings. Just hints of embarrassment.
2) I've had people accuse me of being "gay" before, if that's what this question is asking. Not true, but my behavior made them think otherwise.
~~~
1) Hmm, I suppose it was just boredem taking hold of my mind and playing the "What if?" game. Can't say I remember any particular reason. Sorry this didn't turn out to be a long answer.
2) It doesn't offend me to a great deal. I do politely ask the person to refrain from calling such names, as it does bother me. If they refuse, then I may get a little heated. It's mostly the false accusation with little to no facts behind it that bothers me.

1. What is your gender?
Female
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
No, can't say I have.
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
Just mild surprise I suppose due to it being an uncommon and unexpected question.
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
I was definitely a tomboy when I was younger, mostly because I hated girly things. I loved dinosaurs, cars, and video games. I've always hated the colour pink, and I'm not really into typical girly-girl stuff.
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
No desire to.
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?
Pfft, doesn't bother me at all to be called a tomboy. I haven't been called that since I was a kid, but even back then I took it with pride since I hated the other girls. xD

I'm going to be totally honest, since I like who I am, and don't really care if someone else doesn't.
1. What is your gender?
Male
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
A couple of times, Yes.
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
An unusual question, was a bit surprised at first, but not really affected.
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
I've been called a poof/sissy before at school, as I was always a little bit more gentle as a child, and liked fairytales, ponies and the little mermaid.
Now, I ride horses instead of ponies 7 years on, as I'm a little too big for any pony at 6 foot 3. My late pony Smuggler will always be especially dear to me. I still like fairytales and fantasy, which is what drew me to WoW. ((as well as killing beasts.)) The little mermaid, however, I DiD grow out of. xD
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
I suppose it's because life was hellish for me when I came out as being gay, and I wondered if it would be easier if i'd been born a girl. I don't think that way now though, I'm very much a guy and I like it that way.
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related
It wasn't fun, of course, as I didn't learn to take things lightly till my early teens, but I'd laugh it off. Nowadays if someone says it to me, I just laugh it off, if someone feels the need to call me a sissy they must feel insecure about something of their own.

Simple choice questions:
1.Male
2.Not really but would not mind if i was born female either =]
Short Answer:
1.Well since all we are starting as females and in the process some of us change the XX gene to an XY,i found it intrigued to think how would be my life if i was a female!
2.Nope as long as i know, still am not sure if people call me names behind my back, especially when during my school years i used to hang up with girls more than i did with boys (but most of my friends just envied me and was asking how i did that).
Long answer:
1.As i said i was intrigued about how's my life would be,but i am happy with my gender as it is and i don't think i would change it if I and not Mother Nature had the opportunity to do it.
2.If i heard a friend call me sissy or such i would try to act like one to keep on with Joke (because i only can think that my friends would call me like that for the fun of it).If a stranger called me like that, well is a stranger what would he know about me anyway,i'd simply ignore him.So in both situations my feelings would be the same, not give a second thought or doubt about who and what i am...
Vorel
btw don't get fooled because i play/answer as a female character, all of my characters are balanced between males and females =]

For you guys wondering, here's the survey filled out myself. My college instructor actually surprised me with this project as I have some personal feeling in it myself.
Simple choice questions:
1. What is your gender?
Female
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
Yes and no. I've always wanted to change my gender on a whim. I feel like I would have fit in better born as a boy, but I find the female body a beautiful thing and enjoy being one.
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
I actually have had a similar conversation with my friends recently, but it's not something that normally comes up.
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
I have always been called a Tomboy.
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
I've always felt like I had more of the mindset of a boy. The stereotypes girls are traditionally supposed to fit in just don't fit me at all. I've always had trouble for my ideals, and widely alienated by my peers for my inability to conform. Being born a boy would have probably saved me from most of my childhood trauma and I would not suffer as much of the public anxiety I suffer today.
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?
I love being called a tomboy. I love getting dirty, playing video games, playing with snakes, and absolutely hate puffy pink dresses. D;

#1. Female
#2. Sometimes
#3. No real reaction. It's just an odd question.
#4. Yes. A tomboy. Also a geek but I don't think that counts.
#5. Not sure but being a girl doesn't seem right sometimes.I've NEVER fit in anywhere.I was always the ugly duckling. I like wow cause you can be yourself and no one cares...much.
#6. I've heard it so much I'm not affected anymore.I wear it proudly cause it's who I am.

Sure, I'm game.
Simple choice questions:
1. What is your gender?
Female
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
Eh, I've thought about it a few times. So, yes.
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
Not all that big. As stated in my answer, I've thought about it and I am comfortable with that.
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
I've been called a nerd. Does that count? Because, I am nerdy. About some things. Like WoW. XD Oh, and fat. I was a chubby kid. XD
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
Well, whenever it crosses my mind, it's at a time with I find something I'm doing is difficult because of my gender. I think, 'Man, this would be so much easier if I were a guy.' Then I fantasise a bit on what I could do if I was a guy. Then I laugh a little at myself and move on. Being a girl is rockin, in its own ways. ^-^
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?
I know who/what I am, and I accept it. Nerdage came naturally, but that was only because I had already learned to accept myself for being overweight. Now, I welcome the nerd, and surround myself with people just like me.

Simple choice questions:
1. What is your gender?
Female
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
Not really
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
Mildly puzzled, slight hint of embarrassment
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
I don't think so
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
I don't, but if I did want to be a guy it would probably be because of strength. I am a short, physically tiny person with next to no muscle, but since I work with a lot of guys I hate not being able to pull my own weight in comparison to them when it comes to the physical labor aspects of my job.
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?
Hrm...I don't think I'd mind too much. While I haven't been called either, I have consistently been sort of a 'middle' person--I display characteristics that are neither stereotypically male or female (ie I don't play sports, but I do not wear makeup either). 'Sissy' would probably bug me more of the two because I do not like to be considered weak, physically or emotionally.
Hope that helps!

Simple choice questions:
1. What is your gender?
Female.
2. Have you ever wanted to be a different gender?
Nope. :3
Short Answer:
1. What is your reaction to being asked #2 of the simple choice questions?
Thought about it, was a bit puzzled, but I did snicker at it.
2.Have you ever been called a Tomboy, a Sissy, or related?
Tomboy, yes. <3
Long answer:
1. If you wanted to be a different gender why?
I don't wanna be a boy... Even if it does relieve me from my monthly visitor... I like being a girl. :3
2. How did you or how would you feel being called a tomboy, sissy, or related?
'Tomboy' was considered a complement to me, despite efforts from other girls to make sound like an insult. I never took it badly... Cause I am a tomboy. =D
